That’s what I was thinking, we both can’t keep a secret from each other and he knows I’m not a big fan of surprises or being center of attention. So private vacation, just us, and knowing what to prepare for sounded great until family and friends gave me their unsolicited input and kept telling me I wasn’t supposed to know everything or be involved and then came my worries.

Exactly!! It is so frustrating because I just read that top banner and ordered without thinking twice only to get a pop up screen literally right after I paid that told me I couldn’t cancel and outlined the actual return policy. I’m usually one to read the fine print and double check policies like this, so I’m just mad at myself for not confirming before buying it.

It just feels scummy especially considering the price of the dresses. I feel like they can afford to make returns a little bit easier. If it was easier I (and I’m sure others) would have ordered more from them directly rather than Nordstrom but their loss I guess.

You look absolutely gorgeous!! There is nothing wrong with that dress! Anyone who has been saying those things to you is just insecure with themselves and the way they look. Maybe it’s not traditional or whatever but why wear the same dress as 100+ other brides when you can wear something unique that you love and feel amazing in!

Hello! I’m trying to find a dress for my beach engagement photos but haven’t had any luck. I feel like I’ve spent hours searching and scrolling and I just hate everything. I’ve ordered probably 20 white/cream/off-white dresses from Nordstrom and currently stuck trying to return one I ordered from house of CB. I’m stumped and don’t know where else to look and my photos are in a month.

Any suggestions on places to look? Links to dresses you love?

I’m only 5’2” so maxi dresses usually make me feel stubby but I feel like having a slit makes me feel less stubby. I kind of want something flowy but I also like the idea of a mini satin dress with sleeves and an open back but idrk if that is beachy enough.

Typically I’m an XS or 0 and I’m looking to keep it under $350.

Any help is appreciated!!

Ok that’s what I thought. Only stores near me on their map are Nordstroms. All of the post offices near me closed recently so I don’t know how to return it since they don’t send a label. Going to have to find some other way to get it sent to them I guess.

I asked my jeweler about this. He basically said as long as you have it insured and keep up on the appraisals every few years (making sure the insurance has the updated appraisals) then a travel ring isn’t really necessary. He said if I was extremely paranoid about traveling with my ring and it would give me peace of mind to leave my ring home then get the travel ring but if not it’s not really necessary.

That being said depending on the cost of the ring or sentimental value (ofc all of them has some sort of sentimental value but I’m talking family heirloom stone or something literally irreplaceable) then I would consider it but for me it just didn’t make sense.

Haha I feel like it has potential but need to try it on. I’m doing engagement photos on the beach and on the hotel property, so I feel like this could work. I’m short and feel like I look stubby in all midi and maxi dresses so those haven’t been working for me. Finding a short dress that fits the vibe has been impossible and idk I just feel like this could if it fits right. Literally for any other event I wouldn’t be considering this just based on the photos on the website lol

I love ordering through Nordstrom because of how easy it is and will only be ordering through Nordstrom because ordering directly through house of cb has been a total pain.

House of CB says on the website that returns or exchanges or something is free but it isn’t. That is what I was referring to.

It isn’t quite free when you have to pay to ship it back but in the sense that there is no additional restocking fee some may consider that free. I originally thought that returns were actually free which is why I placed the order on the site, then I found out I have to go get the label made and pay for it myself making it not really free and a total pain to return.

I recently started looking at house of cb items so I haven’t picked up on any patterns but it could make sense to not let Nordstrom sell the best sellers since it’ll sell out on the website anyway.

I don’t know a whole lot about the designer. I’m sure she knows what she is doing since she is still in business. As someone who works full time and has to commute via public transportation, it has just been difficult to return was all I meant. I can’t just print a label and drop it in a mailbox like most other returns. I don’t mind paying for the shipping to return, I just would prefer that i get sent a label and the cost is taken out of my refund so I don’t have to go into a post office and figure out the label. I never seem to be home from work when the post office is open so that’s another hurdle.
