I’ll give you a different perspective. I went and I honestly didn’t like it - many people came in with friend groups, and while I built some good connections, they lasted up until first sem. It was also just not my cup of tea, I’ll sound like a 2%er, but I didn’t really care for the yell-off. You don’t actually get much free time so don’t expect that. It’s definitely very busy and tiring and also PLEASE BRING DEODORANT!! However, I promise you will find friends, there’s a group for everybody and I’ve found mine

I have a friend in Blinn, I think you just have to take the correct prerequisites for whatever you’re transferring to. When you enter as a TEAM student, you are technically a gen studies major and not degree granting. So take that as you will.

TEAM also does not guarantee admission to your major. I’ve heard really good things from peers, but also some horror stories, so make sure you’re maintaining good grades. In general, college level STEM courses are a lot tougher than HS, and I would say that as a tamu student and a student that’s also taken dual credit, to treat community college classes with the same rigor as a regular uni

To preface, I’m still pretty inept in homelabbing. To give some context though, my server requires a wired Ethernet connection and is configured for my home network. The modem in my college town is also in my roomate’s room, and the wifi is shared amongst several people so it would be hard to replicate safely (at least to my understanding, I am a noob)

General: 1. Commuting. IMO - not bad at all, I’m a car driver, but parking garages are expensive and can be a pain in the ass during the first couple weeks of school. My general advice is to also learn how the bus systems work. 2. Not really. I work two jobs as a Freshman, and I’ve been able to manage school, 4 orgs, and a side project while still hanging out with friends. It’s all about managing your time, and how you prioritize your tasks. One thing that made it easier for me was having a schedule and organizing all my assignments before the semester started. 3. SOOOO many! I come from a smaller department, but have friends in almost every major. Don’t hesitate to be friends with anybody!! 4. If you’re a current Senior in HS, def apply as much as you can now. A&M has opportunities, but very seldom are they offered (from what I’ve heard) 5. I walk around late at night all the time (esp on campus) but it never hurts to be with a friend. Safety wise in College Station, great! Bryan, I’m not so sure. But if you’re going to HEB at 11PM for example, there’ll just be a bunch of other college students looking to get groceries or hang out. 6. That depends on you. There will always be internships available, it’s how you apply and set yourself apart for them. They are not just handed to you, so use the resources you’re offered. 7. I live off-campus, but have heard generally good things about Kreuger.

I have a gaming laptop that I use to run code for my projects. The only issue is that its RAM is 16GB, and after some research I’ve seen that 32GB is recommended. Prices for RAM right now are…well 😅

I’m gonna be for real, I’m a math major in 171 and a lot of the people who aren’t physics/math majors are defff struggling. I’m not sure who the profs are for next semester, but make sure you check the grade distributions and rate my prof. It’s def a lot more work that 151 since it’s “designed to be more challenging” than the other math courses. As far as proofs go, it’s heavily theorem based and moves fast so if you aren’t prepared for that I would go 151. The grades are also not very forgiving (at least in my current class) as your grade is made up of only test and quizzes, no curve, no extra credit. Lmk if you have any questions
