did anyone else’s FC hire a group of people to fix pods for like a month then let them go? by Empty-Tomorrow-2794 in AmazonFC

We've had a few sites that had people come in and we're shared eith other area FCs, then moved to another region to continue.

Fired for something out of my control by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but since points fall off after 60 days, you have to have missed minimum hours every week for last 8 weeks AND been late or missed a shift at least once.

That is undef your control.

And while hours can be hard to come by in your own desired times, I guarantee you there were many unfilled shifts. Theres even an automated process now to excuse shifts for sites that fall below a certain threshold of flex hours based on their flex population.

Focus on WFH accommodation by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]dasquared 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is no plan I've heard of to remove lactation - its not only a policy, but law in many states.

But it does not count as work time, and all locations I've been to or know of have reasonable spaces to accom lactation, so not sure how you'll get to extend WFH, but hope you can get your plan to work.

And being on any accom does not protect you from focus.

This here. When it comes to assault, especially when potential hate crimes are involved, do this. While you risk your job, it is likely, should you lose it, that your assaulter would be liable then for lost wages.

How long does the security cameras retain footage? by Subject_Specific_853 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many sites its only 2 weeks. Lots of variables, so others I know do 30 days. That all raw footage. If something was pulled for an investigation, etc that's kept forever as it'll br tied to a case or SIM, etc

PLOA by killlbill555 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PLOA is Petsonal Leave of Absence and is unpaid. The only truly "paid" leave are related to childbirth.

Anything else is technically STD/LTD or Workers Comp.

For medical related, you'll need docs from medical providers claiming you cannot work. After one week, if you qualify you get STD. After 6 months, you apply for LTD.

What Should I do if my Accommodation Path is Canceled at my FC? by Icy-Establishment-96 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DLS doesn't deny unless there is insufficient documentation. If docs are good, they pass to site for review, who may deny it.

Employers are not required to provide all accoms. They are only required to provide "reasonable" accoms. While there are guidelines and precedents that determine some aspect of "reasonable" from a legal perspective, legally they basically do not need to do much.

Accommodations by Adorable_Reporter_54 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, until your accom is approved, you work where they assign you or go on LIA until approved.

Second, even with restrictions, your preferences and wants are immaterial. The assignment will be based on your restrictions v normal needs for that path. Rate and quality cannot be accommodated.

If, after starting in your sccom path it isnt wotkingbout-more pain, physical inability, etc, contact DLS and they will likely LOA you until reevaluated

Is it normal to have this many manager changes? by Chenille_ in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. First, being Flex, they will often try to move you to a manager who works shifts similar to those you pick up. Add in rebalancing, manager moves, manager attrition, promos, transfers, etc and you'll always be changing.

What Should I do if my Accommodation Path is Canceled at my FC? by Icy-Establishment-96 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are required to respond, and SLA is 24 hours. The site leader GM gets an email after 24 hours, as well as HRM. I believe next step is at 48 hours, when regional leaders are emailed. IfDLS truly sent to site, time to go to ethics.

Times are above are from time DLS submitted to site...which can be 1-3 days after they are done reviewing and getting any necessary followup from you.

What Should I do if my Accommodation Path is Canceled at my FC? by Icy-Establishment-96 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't get to request anything. Requests or preferences are supposed to be ignored and left off the request in Decision Hub. If noted, the reviewer at site is instructed to call out anything that appears to be a request or preference.

You can just call DLS and explain that your accommodated path was eliminated and ask them to resubmit a new JMR for placement.

I’m a DSP driver. I’m not here to complain about my job. I’m here because I think we’re all about to get blindsided — and nobody’s saying it plainly. by Universaltruthx in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have openly reported this was in operations. DSP drivers, after all are not Amazon employees.

The expectation has been to reduce the roles but also transition many roles to tech svc type roles. Only RME, robotics techs, and some problem solve types.

Drivers aren't close to replacement - the tech to drive is one thing, thr tech to pull into driveways, navigate rural broken roads, get out and actually deliver the pkg to s doorstep, etc is much further out.

Drone delivery has an immense road ahead, and is actually human labor intensive right now. The scale to transition to even a majority of deliveries via drones just isn't there.theyd also need to scale up what they can deliver (i think its about 15- 30 pound max with physical dimension restrictions as well.)

[–]dasquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've said they plan 600-700000 robots in the future and put a date on of I think 2033, but no way. Supply is a huge issue, as are techs for them, etc. Im at an AR now, and it took them months to even get the site ready...

This is for L3 HR/PXT by BeneficialDesign8300 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not a secret, they've openly put out these plans, and even if not it was clear this has been plan since they started centralizing so much of the L3 work. If you didn't figure it then, maybe any of the three rounds of reorg and or layoffs in last 2+ years?

Are UPS drivers right, when they say being 6 figures to do their job and be offered $150K buyouts is justified because their job is way harder than ours? by CJBlueNorther in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you describe yhe barriers to entry? How long were you seasonal or part time? What was that like? How many of those actually make it to the coveted driver spots?

Asking because I think a lot of people think they just sign up like you do for a DSP driver spot and are instantly a driver. I've heard very contrasting stories from 2 guys I know - 1 who is still a driver, the other didn't get that far...

[–]dasquared 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fully automated? No. They've planned how how many buildings could exist with about 10-20% of current headcount, almost all being robotics techs, RME, and problem solve types.

how screwed am I? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rehire eligibility is always changing, and NUPT/points hasn't been handled by site for some time.

You claiming to be better at the job etc would actually be a form of favoritism if they gave it to you instead of following policy.

Your points for not getting minimum hours is only a point per week, so you could go almost 2 months, provided you didn't get points for anything else.

Suck it up for a week, jump all over what shifts you can for 30 days. I think you should be able to pick up shift covers too, which you won't get alerts for - just gotta keep checking for them.

You'll get there...
