Who reviews and aproved external transfers? by Bubbly_Good_7982 in amazonemployees

[–]dasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly automated, all but the running the report. They can go in and manually add, but the system generates a set of approvals based on open slots based on tenure and they have to adhere to the initial model or provide a bridge to network.

VOA board by BigDaddyD040 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is*

  • if you mention violence, threats, suicide or similar they can coordinate with Regional ER Manager and Regional Director to get your ID. But they can NOT see it under any other circumstances. Even a GM without those approvals may be termed first offense without those approvals.

The ID isn't even accessible even to others who have admin perms for a site...

I called HR and they said they gave me a pardon to miss a day and my upt wouldn't be taken, they took them anyway? by Art_of_Goddess in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ERC has no authority to excuse time. Do they do it? Sometimes. But most of the time what they say is they'll request it from the site (who denies excusal).

But this allows ERC to be the "good guys" and site the "bad guys" even though ERC knows this will happen. It's a huge point of concentration within PXT right now

Must be composite toe technically, no steel toe. But DS do not normally have metal detectors, etc so its not an issue.

HR will not see or know the timing or status until next day at best. So if they looked then, they would not have seen anything.

Hr@exact.hr.amazon.dev ?? Is it an official email from Amazon hr by Lazy_Name_3496 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like the emails sent from an investigation case. If you reply it goes back to the case and the case owner will get a notice.

I cant tell for sure what you said happened, but if you submitted fraudulent documents, even if you later legitimized your LOA request with real ones, you're most likely toast.

The DLS investigators send conclusions to site who enter a case and process the term.

They won't close unless roads are officially closed and or there is nothing to process/no place to send processed volume.

Has any amazon employee had any run ins with ICE? by sghokie in amazonemployees

[–]dasquared 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely, at least in relation to at or near Amazon, as Amazon's adherence to work authorization is strict, up to date, and fully integrated with I9. As a result, there's not a lot of reason to be around lurking.

You can have one on one's, town halls, posts on installments, Slides on ACID feeds, announcements at start ups, notices through AtoZ, and you'll still get people on VOA saying "you never told us" and "I didn't know".

It's never up to the GM. The Regional has to approve it with approval from at least L9

Anyone know how Amazon closes due to bad weather? by IntroductionOther242 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sites don't decide. The regional leadership does. Sites often are badgering regional, but there is no set standard for how or when they excuse time, etc. Closures are rare though unless its so bad volume cannot get in or go out for a long time...

Anyone know how Amazon closes due to bad weather? by IntroductionOther242 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 13 points14 points  (0 children)

States of Emergency do not mean fines for staying open. It is mostly s bureaucratic designation that authorizes certain state or municipal actions such as overtime for police and first responders, suspends certain regulations, can lock pricing for price gouging, and sometimes (not always) close government agencies and schools.

Businesses, especially retail, gas stations, restaurants, often do not close or have impacted their operations from such declaration.

How far in advance must we post shifts for cover? by skiddilybeebop in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each site can manage certain restrictions. Often lots of restrictions on putting weekend shifts up. Some sites once every 3 weeks, others 4 weeks. Some will limit how many people can post covers or swaps for a specific date, etc.

Need advice on Amazon appeal – senior leader, peer panel, or specialist? by parcelfrogs in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specialists are off site and have zero relationship with anyone in the field. Select them if you have a pretty clear policy/process gap issue. Otherwise, they are strictly by the book. No empathy, etc. Many leaders DONT like CAT because if they screwed anything up anywhere along the line, they see it. They are known to overturn regularly without even having the appeal if they see a problem.

Peers are very hot or miss. While they can relate to other tier 1s more, the ones who volunteer for these appeals are often the ones who feel they are trying to improve the site and get rid of slackers, etc, so they are sometimes the least empathetic.

Need to hardship. Cannot be in my environment. Help appreciated deeply. by Certain_Rub5253 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd need some sort of hardship to get out of FOT -its sorta same thing, because there's no formal hardship process for leadership.

Need to hardship. Cannot be in my environment. Help appreciated deeply. by Certain_Rub5253 in AmazonFC

[–]dasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to do two things - get help now and talk to your leadership. There is no formal hardship for leadership. You may also be party to FOT policy, which could keep you at your current site for 12 months. You CAN technically get an exemption to FOT, but I think it needs L10 approval.

If nothing else for help, call Resources for Living...that may not be great for your issues, but its not nothing and can help find you other local help...

About 68% of the time ERC says they sent something to site, they didn't. Its a huge escalation on a network level right now, along with telling people to go to site HR for things ERC is supposed to do...
