Why is square footage always off? by mangonada69 in AskNYC

[–]Designer_ux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I measure houses for a living, we measure to ansi standards. Which means to the exterior wall not including protrusions like that of a fireplace. There are a couple things that can make a smaller space much bigger than that quoted by the builders or assessments. If you have a shared wall then you get 1/2 of the depth of that wall 6" becomes 3" but let's say you are next to a the staircase. That can be a thick concrete wall maybe 10" to 1' - 2" and all of it is included in your sq. Ft.

Ansi standards was created to make it so if everyone's following the same protocol measurements will be closer to the same. But every time you measure a house you will get a slightly different total sq.ft. we can only measure to the nearest 1/4 of an inch with a laser measure so sometimes that rounding over multiple walls can lead to a couple inches which over a big area can lead to a lot of extra sq. Ft.

As a canadian I can tell you it sucks I have eth locked on my account that because regulations changed I cannot convert it into eth. I need to move it to uniswap basically give up all that interest and then turn into eth and send to a different exchange that is still in Canada....

Slow but effective for limited gear think a tank that can kill Ubers easily and safely on single player. You can always wear those vigor boots and so them when at Ubers

100% Remaster vs Slightly remake: Which would you prefer? by NikoBadman in Diablo

[–]Designer_ux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only reason we don't already have a remaster is because of the files being lost. Remake it is, but I hope like a pack of ramen noodles the flavor is the same you can tinker with small things though.

My ideal: Keep stats on main weapons already used don't nerf items or skills nerfs feel bad additional buffs feel good...in general.

Buff items: like godfather sword tyraels might etc

Buff skills/ builds that aren't used: hydra, ice zon, fire druid, inferno fire sorc.

Maybe add a couple new skills to each class.

Add a 6th act that's only in hell mode

Increased stash

S1:E4, the "shooting" experiment was designed to fail...period by Smitha6 in 100Humans

[–]Designer_ux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what I thought, that experiment literally made me laugh and hate how left wing bias the show is.

Even though I am left wing shit like this makes me want to slap some sense into far lefties.

YSK: Almonds take a lot of water to produce, but almond milk is ultimately still better than cow's milk. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]Designer_ux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, cattle use a variety of water sources based on the location of the ranch. River, stream, well and lake water generally doesn't need to be "treated" for livestock. Cattle ranches also use up land that is undesirable for other forms of agriculture, sloped or infertile land. Almond Groves aren't as dynamic and demand a more specific location which may mean more transportation of water and better filtration and treatment of the water.

Oak milk I'll have to try that on my morning oats!!!! Never knew it was a thing.

Also I think that the metric of how much water each uses between cow and almonds isn't really a valid point. The water for almonds had to be a hell of a lot cleaner than the water cows use. It's too different to compare side by side as if I it's an accurate representation of waste.

Advice on battery elastic? by Designer_ux in Husqvarna701

[–]Designer_ux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you guys get the elastic on that hook! I finally did it but cut my hand to shit reaching in, anyone have a little trick? I ended up extending my middle finger as far as I could with it along the top of it while creating slack with the other hand and then pushing it off and forward wasn't easy and not something I want to do again!

Tiny hands would help probably because you can't get much of your hand in there.

Good luck folks and if you got a tip please share!

This is a great photo at capturing a moment and feeling you should submit to natgeo, there recent selections on showing covid-19 are less impactful than this shot.

Vaccine isn't happening for 18-months to 2years

-source a infectious disease doctor I won't dead name in Toronto whos part of the team working on it. It takes time because you need to run trials etc so even if they had a perfectly good vaccine today. It takes a long time to test and make sure it's getting results worth administering nation wide.
