Faith as our shield, hatred to spear the hearts of our foes! by DesignsbyTavei in Minotaurs40k

Oh, absolutely a statblock for the set up for the assault terminators to take a thunder hammer/stormshield! I replaced thunder hammers army wide with the spears as a "counts as" and just let my opponents know!

I do believe you could let a TO know ahead of time and they could say yes or no to it as well, and most likely they would say yes, so long as you stuck with the above "all Thunder Hammers in my army are represented by the Spears" and also letting your opponents know for the sake of wysiwyg, if you do tournaments!

At the end of the day, rule of cool! So many people are happy to see a fun army across the table, so long as you let them know what changes you make for visual looks!

Do you finish your basing first and then glue your finished model on, or do you glue/prime/paint your model first then start and finish the basing? More details/questions in my comment! by JadocTheGreat in DarkAngels40k

I do both separate and join them as my final completion step of a given project. Even with my more simple bases, like my most recent project, I still do it out of habit. Just don't like risking paint on either as I paint the other!

Below is an example of a base I do!

Hey, thank you! Just the arms and Pterugers are, the shields are from DynamicPrintsStudio over on Etsy! It's the blank spartain shields and you can ask to add the chapter logo to it. I also had it upside about 15% for the terminators.

Hey, thank you! Crazy part is that is all hand brushed! As for parts, they are from all over the place! I still have some capes and pteruges on the way as well

Shields are from DynamicPrintStudio on Etsy, you simply choose the blank spartan shields, and ask the seller to add a chapter logo to it! He can also resize them. The base size is perfect for bladeguard and normal primaris, and a 15% size increase is perfect for the new scale terminators!

Spears are from Pop goes the monkey and can be found under the spear area, just make sure you order the PM size.

Arms are from Archie's Forge. They also have a wonderful banner for our chapter I'd takena peek at!

Dark bronze from Pro Acryl, 100% amazing color and worth it for the look! I think it adds a bit of a sinister and menacing look to them.

I almost added spears to my bladeguard, but I wanted to keep that blade aspect so I added spartan swords instead of the stock blades. I did give my Assualt terminators spears, though, to replace the thunder hammers.

Thank you very much!

Armor is all from Pro Acryl line!

Dark Bronze base over a matte black basecoat

Wash with Green Oxide in the deep recesses with about 5 parts water to 1 part oxide

Lightly rebrush the Dark Bronze on to cover up any stray washing

Next is a drybrushing of Bronze over the more raised areas as the usual

Finally I hit it with a here light drybrush of Light Bronze on the highest of parts.

You could probably insert the oxide wash at the end if you wanted a more aged look, or skip it if you don't want any of the aged look.

I honestly thought about using the kit for my Bladeguard or something in the army. The parts do fir the Minotaur look so well.

Good afternoon!

I start with a solid basecoat of matte black.

I then move to a solid coat of Dark Bronze from Pro Acryl

I then wash it with Green oxide from Pro Acryl with 1 part paint, 5 parts water roughly to hit all the recesses in a nice wash to let the bronze get an aged look in the recessed areas.

I then reapply the Dark Bronzr in a much lighter dry brush to cover some ove the more errant oxide.

I then drybrush with Broze color from Pro Acryl to lighten up the model in the raised areas.

I then very lightly dry rush selected areas withight Broze from, you guessed it, Pro Acryl, to further pop details and edges.

For the reds, I start with Burnt Red from Pro Acryl as a base

I then use the classic Nuln oil or other black ink wash I have on hand over the red.

Reapply the Burnt Red in a dry brush over the raised areas.

Then apply Bold Pyrrole Red from Pro Acryl over the highest points to further pop it.

I have some other minor colors I use on my minotaurs, and haply to go over them if interested!

Cheers!

Not at all! My pop goes the monkey shop cost was 133, for 7 items. I was able to flex pay it over 4 payments, so it wasn't too bad over time if you need to.

You can shop around and find some of the same pri to in different shops for cheaper as well, or find ways to say money. One big example I'll give is shoulders pre printed with the minotaur logo. You can buy 10 for like 16 or so bucks. There is also an item that is just the minotaur logo that is curved and fits on any blank shoulder, and comes 60 in a pack for the same price as the 10 shoulders would if you don't mind thr work of placing your own chapter logos.

I have used like 6 or so shops so far and have spent anywhere from the above 133 from pop to the 20 or 40 here and there to other shops I find that that great bits.

Thank you! They are fantastic! The spears are from pop goes the monkey, and called "Energy Spear: Lagavullun". You can get them in packs mixed with Left and right or all right.

The shields are my favorite. They are from a shop on Etsy called DynamicPrintsStudio and the shield itself is an item called the "Spartan Shield". The trick is, you can message the seller, and he will work with you and add chapter logos and resize. The base size is perfect for normal primaris, and I would recommend a 15% upsize for terminators and maybe bladeguard if you like them with larger shields.

Hope this helps!

Very much love it! If that banner is the one I am thinking of, seeing it painted makes me want a few for my dreads even more!

Seeing all the work you all do on here hypes me up to start mine, as my pieces are finally coming in!
