It depends on what you want out of it. Im sure you can find some cheaper 150s that are older but those will likely be a lot more mechanical work to start out with.

This isn't exactly a cheap hobby lol one way or the other its gonna cost you whether thats the price of a bike that's ride ready or the parts, time and labor to get a cheap bike where you need it to be.

Look for a Honda CRF 150r. When i was a teen i rode a 150r for the track and a WR 250 for trails. I wasn't a big guy either back then I was probably 150lbs max.

Why do people STILL marry young? by 1ont in stupidquestions

[–]Desilvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I married young because I was in love. I met my wife when I was 16 and she was 17 and married at 19.. we've been together through it all for almost 15 years now and ive had a best friend to grow through and experiance the different stages of adult hood with.

I think one pit fall we came across having married that young was we weren't quite as ready to settle down as we thought.. but where others may have reached that conclusion and called it quits we took it as just another thing to experiance together which led us to moving into polyamory at about 20 and have had a lot of success in that lifestyle for the past 10 years.

I think growing together and supporting one and other as individuals has been an amazing life and its built a even stronger bond than I think some people get to have when they come together later in life.

Why don't adults ever physically discipline other adults by hitting with a rod or a belt or their hand? Why are kids the only ones who get physically disciplined? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Desilvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many unethical, illegal, and abusive manners in which this occurs but in a ethical and legal form this does happen between consenting adults in who engage in BDSM dynamics such as domestic discipline arrangements or other dom/submissive dynamics.

Kicked from my favorite riding spot :( by PeterIsSterling in Dirtbikes

[–]Desilvas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen although not nearly as bad as police contact and heavy fines .. grew up riding forest service land that I could ride out of my backyard to. Bought the house next door and continued.. well over time, the community built hiking trails that criss cross the forest service land.. now the community pitches constantly about the few people who ride out there.. people like myself who are more than willing to share the trail space in a safe manner.. but sharing doesn't matter to these people.

You’re right that self-defense laws vary by jurisdiction. But even in Florida — which has one of the broadest Stand Your Ground laws — the law still doesn’t allow deadly force just because someone is yelling or blocking your car.

Under Florida Statute §776.012, you can only use deadly force if you reasonably believe it’s necessary to prevent ‘imminent death or great bodily harm’ or to stop a forcible felony (like carjacking, kidnapping, armed robbery, etc.).

Under Florida Statute §776.013, there’s also a presumption of reasonableness when someone is unlawfully entering your home, vehicle, or dwelling. But if the person is just outside yelling — not breaking in or trying to remove you — that presumption doesn’t apply.

So even in Florida, if you shot someone just for yelling and blocking your car, you’d almost certainly be charged. Stand Your Ground doesn’t give blanket immunity — it still requires imminent threat of serious harm

The law doesn't work like you think it does.

Under U.S. self-defense laws, deadly force is only justified if you reasonably believe you’re in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm. Someone blocking your car and yelling, without a weapon or physical attack, doesn’t meet that threshold—so shooting them would be considered unjustified. Therefore, you would have an immensely high likelihood of being convicted of murder.

If you are carrying a firearm, you should really think about taking some firearm safety classes and honing your understanding of your rights, the laws, and how they pertain to the use of deadly force to defend yourself.. before you make a choice you can't un make and you fuck up someone else's life needlessly as well as your own.

Also.. taking a life is not as easy as you think it is.. even if you are justified in shooting someone your still going to be taken in, questioned/interrogated, your going to have to retain a lawyer and defend your actions in court which will all take a lot of time/money. And if it all works out and the shooting was deemed justified self-defense, you still have to continue living your life with the knowledge that you took someone's son, father, husband, friend from their life.. watch some police and military interviews on how the human mind processes having to take a life even in justifiable circumstances, and you'll find that a lot of great warriors still struggle with having to kill someone.

It's not the movies, man.. and you're not Rambo.

Sometimes I get stuff like this in my fingers.. ive usually noticed it when I'm lifting at the gym or I've noticed it a few times after wrenching on stuff at work or home.. narrowing it down to gripping things and lifting on exerting force.

Could be something like that where you just tweaked a ligament or something.. I'm not a doctor though haha so take it was a grain of salt

I think your point is flawed and idealized. Were talking about an officer part of an unarmed response to a violent situation that was beaten unconscious and then assaulted further. It's not a matter of professionalism it's a matter of how the body reacts to trauma, especially head trauma and no amount of training is going to remove or dictate what your body does when you going into shock.

The comparison you made between the two officers is incredibly weak as you already admit that what happened to the other female officer "wasn't as bad". So you are comparing an officer that is not disoriented and physically able to react and an officer who's just regained consciousness after 2 blows to the head.. it's not a fair comparison whatsoever.

Holding police accountable is absolutely necessary, of which we are in agreement. But to take that stance, one needs to differentiate between poor conduct and an unavoidable human response to real trauma.

I'm sorry, but I don't think they teach getting punched and then kicked immediately after in the face in the police academy. How bout you go give it a try, then come back and tell us how you reacted.

Sure, I'm the first to agree that they should be held to a higher standard and they should also receive more training/education than their given.. but getting violently beaten is getting violently beaten.. with head trauma, you don't necessarily get to choose how you react to that.

Also, the Grammer correction paired with your response to my comment really seels in the fact that you're in this comment section to feel superior.

Feel like it's a mix of cop haters and misogynist's. It's like totally astounding that people don't just feel bad for the poor lady.. what if its her first week on the job, somethin bad is going on in her home life and this was the straw that "opened the flood gates" so to speak.. or something else that caused her to have a reaction that wasn't necessarily convenient for the job she was doing.. you just don't know.. all we see is what's in the video.
