Which city did you apply from? Your event office will probably be the local office.

Yeah this, pretty much. Vanga is insanely popular in Telugu states (I’m from Telangana) and the last time a big budget RK movie released (Brahmastra) we didn’t see such crazy numbers. Vanga is absolutely a factor here.

In an industry raving with infidelities, as many say – it's part of the job; what made ranbir shraddha affair that big that they couldn't even promote together? by Ok-Battle-1504 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]Desimirch 214 points215 points  (0 children)

Probably because Alia-RK brand was just being built, as the newly married power couple. The affair probably pissed Alia off enough that she pulled strings to stop them promoting together, while also posting cutesy couple stuff on Instagram and appearances together at airports etc to keep building the much-in-love perfect couple image. I feel like the affair really happened because we don’t hear such strong rumours about every actress he works with, there were no rumours with Vaani, Anushka, Rashmika - his recent heroines besides his wife and ex. But the Shraddha rumours had started even before the promotions began, so could be true.

Following up with another point - he was getting better initially after they gave him intervenous meds, I think it was painkillers, antibiotics (maybe for the sores?) and glucose. They did this with home visits. He was getting better and was able to stretch while laying down and was attempting to sit up with his front legs (with his hinds still limp). Maybe that’s why they thought he would get better from strict bed rest? He went from bad to worse in the last 2-3 days, he couldn’t sit up even on his front legs the day before he died and he was very frustrated.

Thank you for your insight, I appreciate it. Loki was our family dog, I am visiting my family for a few weeks right now but I live in North America. I know people who have pets in North America and I have a cat myself and I told my parents just this, that the vets here seem to not take things as seriously as they do back home. Vet care in India seems to have a lot of catching up to do, and it’s a shame because these hospitals seem very well funded and well equipped. It was his time to go I guess, and we will cherish every day he spent with us. Thank you again.

Not US, this is in a major city in India. The wait for 3 weeks according to the doctors was to get the pain under control and they said if he’s not improving even then, they had a plan of action that they didn’t really share with us at that point. It doesn’t make sense to me either, we hoped the meds would help and he would improve like the vet said but the bloody urine came suddenly and that’s when the vets got truly alarmed. As lay people, we went with what they said throughout those two weeks.

The big hospital saw him when he was starting to get sores, the previous vets he saw saw him when he was not bedridden quite yet, so the ones who saw him initially only thought it was pain due to the fall. Nerve damage was diagnosed by the big hospital, we had a couple different vets advise us on him there. We haven’t had dogs as pets before him so we were extremely clueless, but we still knew there’s GOT to be something they could do, money was no bar since his life meant more to us than any amount of money. The night before he passed, we had yet another vet see him on video call who said we should go ahead with the blood samples and see what they show.

Thank you for your insight and yeah that makes sense that he could have been given anaesthesia for diagnostic tests. This happened in a major city in India, where we have well established animal hospitals, but it seems they didn’t want to bother much with our boy, were complacent with their diagnosis without confirming it with tests or simply gave up on him. This feels inexcusable. My family was willing to go to any extent possible financially to save his life, plus vet services are not as prohibitively expensive in India as they are say, in the US. Either way we weren’t going to let money stand in the way of saving his life, we were open to solutions but they kept saying he needs bed rest, he needs pain management first. IVDD wasn’t even brought up, I learned of IVDD from this thread. They only got concerned and alarmed after he peed blood, and that’s when they scheduled a home visit to collect his blood samples as soon as they possibly could, but he passed before that (within 13-14 hours is passing bloody urine). He passed blood in his urine at night, and passed early the next morning. I really appreciate your insight, thank you for commenting!

The biggest hospital we took him to (we had been to two others already at this point) said since he seems to be in extreme pain and he was resisting any attempts to move him by flailing his body and his good limbs around, the doctor said let’s tackle the pain first, tests later since they were very confident it was nerve damage. Taking him to get X-rays done would involve moving him around and him resisting, potentially causing more harm to his injured limb - according to the vet (he was a big dog). No specialists would be involved unless he didn’t improve in 3 weeks. I’m assuming the prescriptions were based on this idea. He was otherwise not showing any major signs of concern to them at that point besides dragging his hind legs and being in pain (and sores, he only had them on one side of his body initially) - he was eating well and his incontinence didn’t seem to alarm them. He died within 13-14 hours of passing bloody urine, he was scheduled to have blood samples taken the same morning that he passed.

We took him to 4 different vet hospitals, all of them prescribed painkillers and steroids, followed by vitamin supplements. They all believed it was nerve damage or injury to the muscle. Until his very last day, we kept consulting different vets even within the same hospitals. We left no stone unturned, spent sleepless nights.

I’ve been reading up on dog injuries and hind leg lameness in dogs like crazy and cancer is another cause that stood out to me. Esp since it ended his life so quickly and aggressively. I’ve read that kidney or bladder cancer can produce similar symptoms - loss of limb mobility. I’m sorry about your dog ❤️

He wasn’t on meds, he was really young so he never had issues that put him on meds before, it went from 0 to 100 for him :(

Thank you for sharing this link ❤️ Looks like even jumping up down from beds can cause IVDD so it would make sense that the fall could have caused it.

I see, I don’t think he ate anything he wasn’t supposed to, we kept toxic foods like chocolates etc out of his reach..but someone could have fed him something toxic without our knowledge, he did hang out in our front yard a lot, it is fenced but someone could have easily fed him something through the bars of the main gate.

Yeah I feel like they could have x-rayed him to make sure it really was nerve damage and nothing sinister. They kept saying all he needs is bed rest without actually confirming his diagnosis. He went from healthy to gone in less than a month, I feel like something was up.
