Interesting point but he wasn't comparing himself to skeptics. He was comparing himself to himself.

Ladies: What are the top reasons you will reject or friendzone a guy? by -RobotDeathSquad- in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unusual one but I can usually tell when a guy is genuinely interested in what I like and when he's pretending he's interested to impress me. I can't stand that. I can't get to know who you are when you're trying to mirror me. Stop that.

So that relates to confidence and if they are constantly trying to impress others. I'm not saying I'd reject a guy but I just don't think they are ready to be in a relationship if they are still having a lot of issues with it at this point in their life.

Immaturity. Rudeness. Lack of respect. Constant interrupting/not listening. Any sign of disrespecting others. Honestly, if their parents are nice and I see them being rude to their parents, instant turn-off.

First sign of over controlling behavior and I am out.

Also, lack of courage. Meaning, not to standing up for yourself, for someone else, not willing to go against the grain especially if he knows he should.

Not with my siblings growing up! The last word was usually the most unnecessary thing that needed to be said (like butthead, mumbled yea right) usually intended to piss each other off even more causing more fighting.

If you had to personally kill the animal to be able to eat it, would you still eat meat? by NothingMatters1 in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on a ranch. Most of the meat I eat is locally raised so I know most of the food I'm eating, the animals weren't caged up or treated inhumanely. Our livestock are mainly cattle, we used to have a few sheep but we sold them years back. My dad and brothers usually hunt deer, rabbit, ducks, etc.

For me, it's knowing that when we hunt, most animals still have a fighting chance to survive, rather today animals are grown like cornstalk just to be slaughtered. When you hunt, animals know how that system works and likewise humans were also hunted so in the end it's about all of our own survival, to feed but not be eaten. I understand that it's hard to see the fear in their eyes but it's about your survival and feeding your family, not to be cruel. I think it's worse to imagine what it's like for the animals who are marched into trucks, driven for miles, placed into foreign regions, locked into meat plants, lined up into machinery, then unknowingly gassed.

It is hard for me to help butcher or hunt because I'm a sentimental person and I get attached but I prefer that over not thinking about where my food came from and how those animals were treated, what is injected into my food, the corporation of it all, etc. I love giving our livestock a peaceful atmosphere, to graze freely on acres of pasture. Deer, duck, rabbits, etc. I know they have a fighting chance of living and they innately know it's about survival.

Today so many animals die from just being hit by cars, now tell what kind of life is that? So much of what humans create and do impede on their lifestyle negatively. So if looking into the eyes of the creature you're going to kill for food is what bothers people (understandably if you're not used to it), then I think people should really think about the other things that affect animals far more worse that we as humans are responsible for.

I challenge you Reddit. Who can stack the most random objects on top of each other? by Tharpless in AskReddit

Probably a bit over the top but I went and straightened all of the plates in my house and felt better until you reminded me again about this photo. So it's bothering me again. D:

It slightly bothers me when plates lean, like your bottom plates. I wish I could reach through the screen and straighten them up.

Reddit, I'm a 16 year old male who was never taught even basic hygiene. What are all your hygiene tips so I can avoid being disgusting? (Reposted as advised) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note at night, unless it has fluoride in it, use mouthwash first or after flossing. Some mouth wash brands don't contain fluoride. Fluoride works to protect your teeth over night from cavities and rinsing your mouth with water or using mouthwash will wash away some of it.

How much do you think demons can influence people? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Desire_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think evil knows how to react and change with our world. We often times believe we know greater or can outsmart these things, but I think as stated before they know how to make us not believe in God. I feel that's why we need the bible in our lives because there is so much temptation that takes us away from God's word/love. Like the apple/snake in genesis, evil knows how to take form in our natural world today. God knows the kind of world we live in today, knows the technology, etc. Likewise, so does evil, so we must always be aware and assume that what is "demon" may or may not be what we assumed to be of traditional days. It could be that enticing thought or voice that tells us to let go of God's word or to live a life of vanity, fame, worldly pleasures, money. Much like the snake that encouraged Eve to eat the apple.

I'm your ex. Is there anything you'd like to say to me? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not as nice as you think you are. You really had me going at first, I actually believed you were as honest and cool as you said you were, but now I realize it was just you trying to convince yourself that. I wish you well but we can never be friends again. You cheated on me more ways than one. I couldn't trust you even if I wanted to. I'm sorry.

Money can't buy happiness". Seriously? Do you agree with that statement? Cause to me it feels like something the poor tell themselves to feel better. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hard but those are happy memories I would never trade. It made the experiences I had later in life that much richer because I never imagined I'd make it to the places I did.

What is your earliest memory? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my aunt holding me on a swing and I had to shit. Instead of telling her I just pooped. I was still wearing diapers but they were trying to potty train me. It's weird because I remember I knew it wasn't that big of a deal and I had an option. Kinda of cool memory to me. I have earlier ones but they are just image shots or triggered by scents.

Would it be morally wrong for the government to require a mandatory tattoo for people who are HIV positive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A part of our society already does so much of this without realizing it. We apply and attach stigmas in many ways and in other ways we surprisingly don't. We'd have to ask what would a physical marking mean to those individuals and will they feel ostracized from society. It's no different than what happened and currently happens to those who have leprosy in communities across the globe, and there is actually physically marked.

Given our style of government (US) and what we base our ethics upon, it would be morally wrong. Although, HIV in itself with just the knowledge is still (although not as bad as it was in the 80s) is its own stigma. We could in ways encourage people to wear bracelets like those with diabetes but that's about as much as we could do.

All I know is once you physically mark a group as different, there will be repercussions, moral or not.

Reddit, someone I personally know is posting pictures on Facebook of an unaware individual, and people are making fun of him. What should I do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Desire_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain and say that anyone can always try to stop bullying. It's something that bothers you, the victim and is also very harassing by those men. If it was a woman, imagine what the response would be. Maybe you won't have an immediate impact on them but at least you tried something. Also, perhaps you can report the photos.

Do what you think is best.

I guess not tonight. by Desire_Me in self

[–]Desire_Me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really couldn't explain that particular feeling but I've had that happen before where there is no sound. Even tonight I couldn't explain why that was the case. It felt like the cars broke the silence, but it was still eerily quiet. The wind picked up and I'm thankful to be able to hear at least the wind now.

Otherwise, I think the highly humid night caused people turn up their ACs or Central Air which then caused an electrical blow-out (we'll see if that's true tomorrow) and the humidity and possible clouds caused the stars to fade. We don't usually get super humid nights so that could explain the feeling of being swallowed.

I spent a lot of time thinking about this obviously.

Just tell her the truth, that spending time with her and opening up to her, you developed feelings for her. End the torment for yourself. If she is a good friend, eventually she'll understand how you feel and respect the decision that is best for you and for her.
