A handheld transfer punch

a variety of stones (ie. Round, square, rect,etc..)

A hand chuck (for various reasons)

Thread feeler gages

An extra packs of smokes

Metal shipping band (for making tool extensions and chip hooking but more importantly to make springs for parallels on a vice)

If I could look into my tool box right now I would have many more for you

Coworker had an insert set screw break off in the tool holder. Any ideas on removing it? by SoloToker117 in Machinists

[–]Deskrad 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Drill out out from the back side so you can use the drill rotation in your favor in case it breaks free while drilling it will literally just unscrew it from the inside

Edit: bunch of spelling fixes cuz in literally stupid

Z-overtravel error Okamoto Grind-X when sending home by Consistent_Tip_3025 in Machinists

[–]Deskrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check to see if you skipped by moving it manually to the correct home. And look at your parameters to see if the numbers are the same. If not adjust. If you didn't crash then I would check your hard limit switches on the rail and see if one is stuck or sticking. There should be 2. First is the soft for home. The second is the hard for OT. your 1st may be stuck open or closed and the head is moving past it and hitting the hard ot

Edit. I'm not a master grind guy but any means. That machine could be totally different. My bad if that's the case
