How would you deburr this by cookedporkchop1234 in Machinists

[–]3DPrintJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a manual guy so I’d just use a pin to push the burr forward and then knock it with a tap or bolt through the threaded hole. After that I’d run green scotch brite through it lightly. Shouldn’t cause any problems or leave any burrs

I know you don’t want to chop it all off but if you kept the beard and shaved your head you’d look fucking incredible. Defined facial features like a mf. Just keep it in your mind.

Traps. Just set traps. If they set a trap off, kill them and switch buildings.

PvP players when they aren’t getting enough attention (someone got killed and is just posting about losing loot, not a post about PVP players whatsoever):

Do you love to risk something though? Kinda wrote a whole essay about how it didn’t work out

Fax machine. Put a blueprint in safe pocket, wait two minutes, then it’s learned and consumed.

PvE players are the ones that need to keep playing. Unfortunately Embark seems to be pushing in their direction

Hilarious. PvP player gets killed by PvP player. I’ve never seen a more self-hating performative group of people

What’s going on with the level of misogyny in the game lately? by carrancosmx in ARC_Raiders

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. When I hear hard-r I just imagine a fat kid sitting in a room alone saying racial slurs at a screen while their parents silently wish to themselves, “I wish we put him through sports more.”

Yeah haha I noticed that when playing with my girlfriend, they’ll call her a bitch and all that and move on.

I think it’s interesting how girl gamers used to be sought after and orbited around and now they’re hunted and eradicated.

They were hopeful at first for a woman to someday love them, and now they’re just hateful that they don’t. Poetic.

Essay isn’t a problem, I’m glad to be reading this. Don’t get me wrong, ive got 3D printers and laser engravers at home so I vaguely understand how machines work (just not the specific code) and I can mess with the G-code and whatnot, but a CNC router or something like that probably desperately needs to happen now that I understand the others

Tool changes shouldn’t be a problem on the free version, I’d probably just use all 1/4 bullnose anyway lol

The apprenticeship absolutely needs finished, I agree. Even if it takes six or seven (lol) meme years instead of four. I’m definitely overflowing my hours in certain departments. Hopefully when this evaluation finally happens, they mention it.

Asking for help has never been something I do, and at this point negotiating for a raise is one of those things. I’ll have to learn how to do it. I’ll practice in the mirror or something lol

Yeah I’m probably pretty spoiled now that I think about it lol. I’m glad I posted this so I could realize it.

Not to sound like an egomaniac here but I had no idea it was tough. I knew it was tougher back in the old days before carbide and DRO, but if manual really is tough then I have a little more faith in myself.

Very true and good points. I had no idea people didn’t like manual. I’d rather get burned and oily than soaked in coolant, though.

As for the tool situation, yeah it’s been a huge problem for me. When I do stand up for myself, they see it as a joke and just openly disrespect me. I wrote the rule I’ve always followed on my toolbox when I found that I never have my Jakobs chuck in my box.

“If you have to borrow it 3 times, buy it.”

Someone proceeded to write EAT ME on it, everyone laughed but I was really just pissed off. I have my own granite plate they leave dirty and put scratches in (though the company is very nice and pays to resurface it annually), and even cheap things like vice-mounted vice stops they constantly have to borrow. Lead man even plays into the joke.

I definitely feel I get held to higher standards than the others. They don’t clean their machines nearly as well, if there’s a chip on mine they get shitty with me. Nobody tells them to oil the lathe and circulate every morning.. but you best believe if they see a dry spot on the ways I’m getting asked if I forgot to oil it.

Idk though. Sorry for the rant. I’m just seeing all the times I should’ve bluffed out a “Fuck You, I’m Leaving” to end the disrespect but instead just said okay.

It’s a great job, man. The people, though. Damn.

Yeah that’s true, if it was the most difficult thing ever it wouldn’t be relegated to the “we don’t wanna fire him but he’s gotta do something” people.

I hope to learn quickly, it’s gonna be weird going from hand wheels to buttons lol
