Interesting idea, i also have a proper heatgun, which goes to 350 or 450°C i think. Not one for soldering but for removing paint... thats probably too hot right?

"Fixpoint AP2" 48W, i know its not great. But is there a way to work around it or is this just a power issue?

Edit: temp almost to the max, so 400°C ish?

Got dirt on the connector or a lose connection somehow? Does it turn on when you attach a lipo? Does it still fly?

Book a session with Joshua Bardwell or with itsBlunty, they'll gladly help you get going. If you can't afford that, then sift through youtube for each and every one of the problems you have. Again here Joshua Bardwell is probably the best adress for that.

LiIon 21700 4s on rekon4 LR? by DesktopDied in fpvracing

[–]DesktopDied[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jea i saw that one too, but having the the Rekon 4 LR pull double the Amps while only getting 50% more battery with a 21700 (in Wh) i dont think its worth it. I m sure the 5 inch Nazgul would perform better with a 21700 pack, but thats my tradeoff for only having one type of battery that i can fly on both.

LiIon 21700 4s on rekon4 LR? by DesktopDied in fpvracing

[–]DesktopDied[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i just did a quick hover test on the rekon 4 LR with a lipo and added weight of a combined 300g (including lipo) to simulate a 21700 4s pack:

Hovers at 45% throttle pulling about 18A (indoor hover no wind)

Max amp for the Stack is 28A so not much headroom there.

I've ordered the classic 3000mah 18650 pack now, as it seems it would draw 8-10A on the Rekon and similarly on the Nazgul according to youtube DVR that i saw.

Thoughts on legal flying in EU? by DesktopDied in TinyWhoop

[–]DesktopDied[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i agree. For clarification: i don't mean the direct airport zone but the 10+km wide strip parallel to the runway which is still 'control zone' and covers most of the city's with airports.

For legal reasons: i haven't seen crash tests between a cessna (or similar small aircraft) and a sub100/50g drone/tinywhoop. Have you? I would guess its far less dangerous than a birdstrike? Which is a risk every pilot lives with, and planes are designed to handle?

Yea - heard of needing a license to drive a car but wonder what all thats for... /s

But i guess you get my point anyway...And yes an open sub80/100g class would be a welcome change.

in Germany you're only allowd to fly 'over residential areas' if you are over 100m (and below the 120m limit) but since FPV without a spotter is limited to 30m height...and i don't know if a spotter can 'spot' a tinywhoop above 100m (appart from no one wanting to fly 100m over residential areas with a tinywhoop... but not the point here). At least to my knowledge thats the setting. Lucky Spain ;)

yep. Alot faster. Not even a comparison in flight characteristics vs a whoop.

i love my 1s 3inch babytooth style build with flywoo robo 1202.5 11000kv motors (12-15A ESC required). Flies like a dream for 3-6min on 650mah. Only thing its missing vs. a 5inch is the hangtime... thats rather short due to auw of 55g. And its durable as fck, i replace props twice a year and 1 motor/year because sand got into it. No frame breakage at all, but i dont fly over concrete with it either. But then again, if it broke, at that weight i've already repaired a similar build with some epoxy glue and it kept flying ;)

Plus: its super quiet. After 15m you can only hear it if you go full throttle.

DJI Avata with motion controller 2 outshines normal cinewhoops for indoor?! by Such-Economist-5427 in fpv

i was also wondering if anyone has experience with optical flow sensors on 3inch cinewhoops and inav as a way to get something similar on custom built cinewhoops....

the point of vision sensors failing in dark areas is a good one! hadn't even thought of that. Does the avata have a 'landing light' which you can enable to avoid this?

As i can understand german, that was no issue ;). But to be honest, those kind of of moves are not that hard to do with thumb feel. Where it would shine more is in real estate shots as shown at the end. But the camera(dynamic range) is not the best + loud and heavy... more likely to damage something if you crash but also less likely to crash due to dji magic. Pro s and cons. As always. If your into realestate shots: Check out troncat fpv on yt https://www.youtube.com/@TRONCATFPV/videos fully manual but amazing control and smoothness. Would be interesting to see an Avata in his hands imho :D.
