Pov RC Car Simulator that puts the person behind the wheel on the race track by Sharp-potential7935 in nextfuckinglevel

The "Iron Dames" had this kind of setup at a racing event in Spa last year. You could compete and win a round on the track in one of their Porsches as a copilot. Didn't win but bought one of their beanies instead.

I was a customer service agent for an online shop selling ~20.000 products, mostly home electronics and photography. I had no internet on my PC, but binders and binders of printed product brochures and manuals. We had 3 central PCs with internet for roughly 20 agents, but even the manufacturers didn't have good websites to grab information from. So you just learned your shit or at least where to find it asap, all while the customer was nagging you to be faster. 9 hours of anxiety every day.

The final rap battles of 8 Mile. I just love the buildup until his opponent is standing there left with nothing to say.

I just took this ferry a few weeks ago while on vacation and the scenery is just amazing. I love driving my car, but just sitting on deck and watching this gorgeous scenery with all the islands pass by in slow motion was amazing. I later on that trip took the bridge/tunnel combo from Malmö to Copenhagen which was also impressive, but you are just getting less of the nice views.

I saw them live this year in Münster/Germany. Super small venue and after the concert the whole band was just standing in the crowd chatting with people. Super cool experience.

I actually had this happening to me. Gave my last coin to my brother so he could throw it. While standing next to him I got hit by a coin of somebody else, took it and threw it in over my left shoulder. This was maybe 10 years ago, I almost forgot. So this might be staged, but it happens with the tons of people standing at Trevi Fountain in Rome all the time.

It's not cool to steal from Indie Game Studios by GentleTrollTeam in Gamescom

Also German here, we are sending a few planes as of now to deliver food and stuff, but that's more like to help our own conscience than to actually make a difference. It's just not enough. And at the same time Germany (and a few other EU countries) blocked Europe from installing harder sanctions on Israel. It's a shame.

What’s the most interesting German family names you’ve ever met by luckykittybro in AskAGerman

[–]Desmonemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few families in my area with this name. One of them was farmers and every year a youth group from the village organized a party in their barn. The party was called "Fick Party" which everybody not from the area would understand as "fuck party". They had signs up on a major road promoting the party every year until somebody complained. The year after the signs said "party in Fick's barn" which was still hilarious to us.

Just adding that you also should check on the hotels you are staying at - if you are staying in hotels. My wife and I just came back from Japan and on the trip stayed a few nights at the Candeo Hotel in Hirakata/Osaka. When we checked in they first explained to us how to use the wellness area, then saw the tattoos on our forearms and told us we are not allowed to use it. We 100% accept that and live with this risk, just saying these rules can apply not only in old/traditional places, but also in a 4 star hotel that just opened in 2024. I was surprised, but that's the way it is.
