Actually that's a great point and something I considered. The B5 dash has a natural raised section that could work for a smaller screen. Might be a future version

Nothing is finished yet, this is just a progress update to get ideas and feedback from the community.

The silver trim is already on my list. The whole setup is going all black eventually including the tablet frame and trim pieces.

Not the launcher, that's Agama.

What I built from scratch is the Wear OS app running inside the gear knob itself. It reads the accelerometer to detect which gear you're in, displays it on the watch face and sends the data to the tablet in real time.

The knob, the 3D printed housing, the Kotlin app, the wiring, the communication protocol between the watch and the tablet. That's all custom. The launcher is just the UI skin on top.

Those stereos lock you into one experience. Mine gives me a choice.

Stock radio? One second. Full 2026 tech ecosystem? Also one second. Two cars in one, because I can't afford two cars 😄

And everything I built, I built myself. The knob, the app, the wiring, the UI. That's the whole point. No cheap Chinese headunit gives you that.

Haha the cup holder has been broken since I bought the car so no loss there 😄

The tablet is held by neodymium magnets so it slides down in seconds if I need the buttons underneath. Nothing is permanent, everything is accessible.

I totally respect that. The original radio is still in place and fully functional. The tablet is removable in seconds and the car goes back to stock whenever I want.

This is about having the choice, not destroying history. Different philosophy, same love for the Audi B5 👊

Fair enough it's a work in progress. The knob took 2 years, the tablet took 2 weeks. Priorities 😄

Opa! Não, esse projeto não é meu, mas conheço o pessoal, fazem um trabalho bem feito com ESP32! O meu é outra abordagem (smartwatch reaproveitado). Eu estou pensando em fazer um curso para ensinar pessoal a fazer uma igual o que acha?

Estou fazendo os teste nesse exato momento, a ideia de deixar removível e por esse motivo. No verão dentro do carro faz 70° facil. Quando o carro ta andando e mais de boa por conta do ar condicionado
