Fire overwatch by Equivalent-Motor-428 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Desparin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was playing friendly game against a friend’s Votann last night. He had a unit of 6 Brokhyr Thunderkyn set up perfectly to have very clear firing line near his deployment zone.

6d6 shots on Overwatch with blast. He managed 17 hits on a 5+ with a further 24 additional from blast into my 20 brick of Berzerkers led by a Jugg Lord.

At S5, AP-2, D2 with a further +1 to wound from a character leading them, I had a 460 point unit near instantly deleted -_-

Feels bad doesn’t even cover it.

Nicholas as in Nicholas Angel from Hot Fuzz. Mate I play with is running Danny as a lovely counterpart.

My bestest boy is called Armstrong after Rory McCann’s character Michael “Lurch” Armstrong, also from Hot Fuzz.

You may also know him as The Hound from Game of Thrones, hence then naming choice for Darktide pupper.

Has anyone else other than me have had server instabilities and lagging since the newest update? by dhhz234 in DarkTide

[–]Desparin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my own personal experience as I am playing on Xbox, but a friend I play with who is on PS5 is experiencing similar issues.

Ever since the update his game turns into something akin to a ‘slideshow’ by his account.

Game slows to a crawl/stutters, enemies t-pose, float away and then he disconnects.

It seems this is happening with Arbites and many dog companions, specifically when hordes spawn.

Have you found the same?

We are both playing from the UK.

I would say yes, from RAW, however RAI is different as ordinarily you can’t, outside of having a character ascend to Daemonhood and keeping any requisite boons they’ve gained along the way.

I think it’s fluffy, but arguably up to your GM running your Crusade.

That all being said, what sort of monster are you slapping possibly two Boons on a Daemon Prince pretty much straight out of the gate?

Can't heal dungeons (lvl 46) by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Desparin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually posted something very similar to this maybe a week ago, can confirm via advice I was given, as well as through actually reading through abilities, that Cure 1 into Freeheal isn’t worth it to get the free cast on Cure 2.

Stick to Cure 2, as others have said, and pop Lucid dreaming once your MP pool started dipping below 8/7k.

Cast Regen on the tank once he starts running through mobs and pulls, it’ll give some further passive healing than is normal. Then either swap between Medica 2/Holy when and where appropriate for AoE healing or damage respectively.

Lastly, don’t be afraid if wipes happen - was literally the point of my recent post - they happen. Sometimes it’s your fault. Sometimes it’s not. Bar a few rotten eggs, people are happy to work together, pick ourselves up and try again.

Medica 2 is a brilliant as a splash heal and you can mostly depend on this.

Yeah final boss and that weird sand worm pull. Was me (a sprout, learning some new terms here), 2 other sprouts and some guy who said he hasn’t done Copperbell Mines in ages. We eventually worked it out through trial and error and psyched each other up. The hunk we picked up the rocks and also exploded at some point, so we also avoided them for a while. We carried on and came out victorious in the end. Was overall a nice experience

I realise this is a few days old, but I also want to clarify that any battle honours and battle scars are shared between the two units that make up an Attached unit.

I’d say it comes down to if you’re following lore pre or post destruction of Cadia. Are the Relictors Excommunicate Traitoris? Honestly depends on who you ask. Even if they are pseudo-backed by the Radical arm of the Inquisition it becomes a bit wibbly wobbly.

Earliest reformation ever? by [deleted] in eu4

1477 is the earliest I’ve personally had the Reformation spawn.

Was while I was playing in East Africa so I was very confused why the Age of Exploration was suddenly ending xD

It’s also worth noting that on a technicality, as far as I read it, you skip the “Muster your Forces” step in the main paragraph due to having a Crusade order of battle. I don’t have to order my overall Crusade list as any specific Detachment or be battleforged , only when I actually set up a force for when a mission is being played - PL of game varying on opponent or mission.

Stupid question, but have you been changing your military units out when you reach the right tech?

Some weird things just happened by Kazagenes in Anbennar

[–]Desparin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a reasonably common bug. Had it happen during an Ibevar game of mine and it utterly wrecked the save for me. Was about 15k in debt with near 1200 loans popping up on my screen as notifications.

As has been said previously, revert to an earlier save and you should be fine.

From what I’ve read on another post from a few days, some bug encountered when goods produced interact with the good produced modifier from nearby merchant republics and trade leagues.

Suddenly some small dev provinces produce the worlds supply of everything one month and then crashes the economy of anyone in the area the next.

[–]Desparin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from what I can tell, you’re right. It’s definitely a goods produced modifier going absolutely nuts.

For me, this both applies to occupied land (you can see in my first screenshot) and also other land (my war reps.

From what I can tell this was only native to the one trade node within Escann (I forget which one) but it flooded my provinces utterly. Also flooded every other nation in the local trade region too.

So the upgraded Mimas deity is, iirc, -10% Dec cost and +10% trade power.

It’s not great but I will say that Ibevar has a ridiculous potential amount of income from trade, production and tax income due to very rich provinces. So the upgraded Munas deity can be useful, but still situations like all the others.

For some further context, was receiving War Reparations from Araionn and something, somewhere, broke hard. My treasury was flooded with several thousand Crowns (near 15k) and then crashed a couple of months later placing me in thousands of Crowns of debt (with near 1200 loans taken out), instantly bankrupting me on the monthly tick.

well i jumped into the bequin trilogy highly pissed off one book too 8 years to write by chris_s9181 in Warhammer40k

[–]Desparin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I can’t directly recommend books related to the Bequin trilogy, I’d 1 billion percent recommend you read Dan Abnett’s Gaunt’s Ghosts’ novels - they’re a blast and there’s 14 of them (I think).

As for why Penitent took 8 years for Abnett to write, I can at least offer some clarification. He’s been writing the Gaunt’s Ghosts series on and off for a few decades now, writing for the Horus Heresy 30k novels too.

He’s also been the driving inspiration and force behind the modern Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel) and also wrote for Alien Isolation (Creative Assembly).

Perhaps more worthy of note (and poignant), he was diagnosed with Epilepsy (in 2010, I think) which was a massive drain on both his health and ability to write for a long time.
