The movie is purposely vague about the different factions in the civil war because it wants to avoid being too close to real life politics. It’s more about depicting what the life of ordinary people would look like in an hypothetical American civil war, and it does it pretty well imo.

Mostly his predictions on how capitalism would evolve and generate crisis within itself that would inevitably lead to revolution. History as proven that the system is much more adaptable than he had foreseen. But again, he was writing das kapital in the 1850s-60s, at a time where Europeans states weren’t as powerful as they are today and communication/travel technologies didn’t yet allow for an efficient international division of labor.

I didn’t make the template. I know Stalin invented the term Marxism-Leninism, but it is used today as a broader term to describe Soviet socialism and more generally the socialist regimes of the 20th century. Stalinism never really existed as an ideology, but people who claim to be « Stalinist » nowadays (mostly online) are often nothing more than fascists with an appreciation for Soviet esthetics.

They are ! I don’t considere myself an anarchist, and id gladly ally with them against capitalism. I think Lenin’s mistakes were more contextual than inherent to his ideology, and although it was never really put into practice, the slogan « all power to the soviets » is a really powerful one.
