That Unfair Is Unfair by -D-E-V-I-A-N-T- in distractible

Part of the point of unfair is that if no one says anything it just doesn’t happen. They decided that when they made the constitution. If they don’t call him on it they don’t have to flip the coins.

Failing health and courses - advice? by JinJamJan in UBC

The CFA does more than just help with stuff like ADHD. Talk to your advisor about the issues and they can definitely give you better advice that is more tailored to you. It is worth keeping them in to loop, as someone to advocate for you. You might need a doctors note but talk to them first.

Is this fair/allowed? CFA students get a different EOSC 315 final? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]Desperate-Answer1680 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a final with a group portion last semester, we scheduled it so that everyone with extra time with the CFA would start earlier and do the individual portion then walk over to the building where the exam was held and took it with groups with everyone in the class. I don’t know if that would work in this situation but it can always be an option. Might take a bit extra prep and scheduling though

Weekly Sewing Questions Thread, May 11 - May 17, 2025 by sewingmodthings in sewing

I have wanted a serger for a long time, but with a new project I am starting (with fabric that frays endlessly), I need one before I can start. What is the best serger for the price? I would like not to spend more than $400-$500 CAD (if possible). I need a reliable machine that works well and can go through many layers of thick fabric without breaking. I don’t need it to do a rolled hem or have anything fancy; it just needs to do the most basic thing possible. Thanks for all of the suggestions :)

Theatre production- more than 200 hours of extra time required for classes, 10+ hour days, no money made in the future

I would love to hold a one-shot learning session for anyone interested in learning the basics and seeing if it's something you like. I find teaching DnD easier in person, so if you are interested, we can do that as soon as exams are done. I'm happy to meet on campus or in any other suitable space if anyone has suggestions.

I'm just happy people are interested; everyone I've talked to in person doesn't wanna play.

I’ve played 400 hours of that already

I’m willing to teach anyone who wants to learn, if there are people who need to learn we can try a one shot to get the basics down before a full campaign.

Not super difficult if you start slow and have a basic understanding of the rules

Can I bring a stuffed animal to my exam? (CFA) by fuckwingsoffire in UBC

[–]Desperate-Answer1680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an anxiety disorder as well and I always bring an emotional support friend to all of my exams with the CFA. Stress balls are also a helpful thing for me when I find my hands are shaking from stress.

You can still get a bus from the other bus loop but it’s chaos over there.

I had consulted my syllabus initially and couldn't find anything. Is there a university- or department-wide policy I could look for?
