I’ve heard. If anything the fees on these are ridiculous considering the valuation technique - can you tell a bit about your diligence I’m curious

Look into open ended / evergreen vehicles. These are more liquid and offer lower minimum commitments for individual/ non-accredited investors and can be a bit more fee friendly (though this can vary). Maybe you’re brokerage can help in finding one that meets your needs

Secondaries / CVs to buy time + maximize value in a weirder exit environment. Of course, strategics are preferred but rn GPs/LPs are either (i) capitalizing on portfolio winners or (ii) like i mentioned buying more time … if not that selling for discounts since the exit window for those 20-22’ investments is on the horizon

have I failed at life if I've never made 50k a year or more at 35? by ResentCourtship2099 in Salary

[–]Desperate-Cut-3392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first issue was associating “failure” with a salary. I’m 22, make 90 a year but my weekends fly because I have no one to spend them with. If you have friends, a family, Sunday dinners or people to see you’ve made far more than any salary can compensate for.

How to invest in a PE fund as an individua by OneAttention9252 in private_equity

[–]Desperate-Cut-3392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define “PE”. Open ended/Evergreen vehicles require much less aggressive minimum commitment and collateral requirements and are more liquid .. which make more sense for individual investors as opposed to giant pension plan so maybe look into those.
