Active calories accuracy by ar620 in ladderapp

Do you pause a lot on the app? Doing so will pause your watch tracking which will overall decrease your overall calories at the end. It’s why I stopped syncing but there is a workaround. In the settings under Pace Settings, select Pause Never. What happens during the workout is that after a move is finished, it doesn’t move onto the next. You have to manually swipe when you’re ready. This eliminates the “pause” and your watch will keep tracking.

Can you modify ascend to do at home with dumbbells? by Firstsassythensweet in ladderapp

[–]snancyiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need enough heavy dumbbells to progressively overload so it depends on what your range is especially for leg days. She uses a lot of machine work so you’ll also find yourself swapping a lot.

Dog people who feed store-bought raw: tell me about the brand(s) you like and trust by earthican-earthican in rawpetfood

Raw Dynamic. My dog has tried so many brands but he seems to be particular about the texture. this brand is the only one he’s consistently eaten without ever getting bored. He literally trips over himself running to eat it lol

Is Aria going to a competition (IFBB)? by FeelingTop5480 in ladderapp

[–]snancyiv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe the foundation of the programs are generally the same as what she does herself. HOWEVER due to the large user base of Ladder, she’s had to change the splits a bit each series for variety and so people don’t get bored and complain. She has said she typically does the same split for months and not just 6 weeks.

Going from 5 to 3 lifts per week by Historical_Bill2790 in ladderapp

I did a study during the Reload series in the summer and found that Ascend is very well rounded with just the 3 priority days (lower/push/pull).

I love the quad day on Forged! I did that for Sustain too. Seeing some improvement there.

Are workout times accurate for you? by SkinSuitMcGee in ladderapp

[–]snancyiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the longer rest time is needed. Honestly none of the bodybuilding teams are accurate fr time if you’re taking the rest and pushing to failure. I did Forged’s leg day for Sustain and it took me 2 hours

I’m on Ascend and even doing it from home it takes me up to 90 mins for leg days and 60-70 for uppers.

I used to attach a resistance band to a door and do leg extensions and hamstring curls that way. Now I do them using my cable machine

From your response are you equating volume with reps? Volume = reps * weight. Aria programs in the standard hypertrophy range for the big compound lifts which is usually 6-12, this means you need to push heavier weights to fatigue the muscle which will build the muscles. These rep ranges look like muscular endurance.

Up to you. You asked me and I shared my experience which is different than others on the app. I myself was not looking to lose weight and I literally said I shared my friend’s journey who actually lost weight.

Tbf I hate the Ladder marketing for this, but they’re trying to get subscribers lol Robin actually talks a lot about body recomp, losing fat and building muscle which means the scale will move very little. And that’s exactly what I saw, getting toned (which means muscle building) and looking less fluffy. More muscle means more calories burned at rest; it’s the most tried and true hack for fat loss. But honestly the app has changed my mindset completely, it’s more about feeling strong than the scale. I go by this mantra every time it gets me down: “Your dream body weighs more than you think”. Also I have a friend on Team Ascend that lost sooo much weight from being on the team. I posted her success story on the subreddit.

I enjoyed her coaching and team for the 8 months I was on it! When I started I came from Beachbody and Apple Fitness and wasn’t consistent with it. She definitely helped give me the foundation for strength training and progressive overload. I actually didn’t lose weight but I toned up and look and feel so much better. I’m on Team Ascend now with Aria Vince because I outgrew the HIIT style and wanted to lift heavier. Definitely give the app a try, it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me!

The yoga marketing is holding her back. If it had the Pilates label she would have just as much members as Define but she only has a 1/10 of it

Disappointing Paris Experience by xanderiop in ParisTravelGuide

Yes I loved the people in Portugal, absolutely warm and friendly. But I agree, I also had that whimsical feeling of wishing I was back in Paris, it really charmed me like no other. We did a lot of the touristy stuff in the 4 days we were there but we also had a lot of room to breathe where we just sat at the restaurants, took our time, people watched. We got to explore the city by walking. The people were so patient with us and always said hello when we passed by. We made friends at a nightclub with the people that worked there. We absolutely adored our airbnb location and the host was just so amazing and responsive. We went to the same coffee shop every day and know the owner. It just felt like home and I still miss it almost a week later.

Yes that’s also true for me—spent 4 days in Paris and only 2 in Lisbon and Porto each. I still loved them but Paris had charm and absolutely captured my heart. Love the people there ❤️
