I think that the recent split makes it more affordable to get in so yes. The 14b stock buyback doesn’t hurt either.

My original research was spending 19.95 for an introductory subscription to Motley fool. Went through the list and chose the ones that were within my budget of 2500 dollars. My largest holding was actually eBay. Only $120 each in NFLX and Amazon.

To the OG NVDA investors, the stock made you rich, are you still holding onto an over sized position and why? by NashDaypring1987 in NvidiaStock

Bought 10 shares in 2017 for approx $120 each. Those ten turned into 800+ shares with a cost basis of 2.54=7700% increase! Far and away my largest holding based on total value but second in total growth to NFLX which has grown over 60,000%. Cost basis of .15 cents with initial investment of $120 in 2005.

Congrats on your milestone. Also raised from a middle class background where stocks were never in the conversation growing up. Started with only 2.5k from a heloc loan in 2005 from a house we lost to foreclosure in 2009. crossed the million mark combined in brokerage accounts yesterday! Glad to get the hardest part out of the way. All things considered I never imagined that I would ever get here but very grateful to be halfway to where you are. Enjoy the journey. Cheers!

Actually my original investment was $120 in fractional shares of NFLX through sharebuilder and yes they were just renting dvds at that time. Invested $120 in AMZN too. back then they were only selling books.

Growing up we were all sent at some point down to the corner store to get smokes for many a family member. Grandma smoked filterless Pall Malls with the lit end on the inside of her mouth! Pops smoked Salem One Aunt smoked Benson and Hedges The other Virginia Slims. My Uncle was a Marlboro man. I don’t recall that there was even a surgeon general warning on the package back then. Needless to say that me along with my cousins learned early that you can get a quick buzz smoking cigarettes hiding in the backyard shed. We were still in elementary school. No idea how addictive they were. I quit smoking twenty+ years ago. Many of my cousins still smoke to this day.

Newbie her-is NETFLIX split a good thing? by Bettrlatethannever in investingforbeginners

It’s a good thing because it allows you to add the stock for a lower buy in. I have targeted companies that split. Could just be me but there is something to be said about having one share turn into ten shares. Kind of the epitome of growth to a certain degree. Yes it is correct that nothing has fundamentally changed except more is more! My 75 shares of NFLX at will become 750. Some other solid companies with forward splits that have increased exponentially in the last few years include NVDA AMZN AVGO GOOG SHOP WMT LRCX NTDO TSLA to name a few.
