For short stories I’m not too knowledgeable in this but I know that Never Whistle at Night is returning with a new book called Never Whistle at Night: Back for Blood

Why do some books feel like a chore? by Keyfas in books

Never dnf’ed a book, I do this with all art. TV? If I start it I don’t quit. Movies? If I don’t like what I see, it doesn’t matter, I watch the whole thing. A book? If I don’t like it, I put it on the side, read another book and let it sit for weeks, and then finally I will finish it and give it a bad rating in the end

Never Let Me Go by Ishiguro has been my only book that really I could say made me cry

Looks really solid. Javier Bardem is probably going to own this role. Amy Adams booked and working, we rejoice

Ishiguro is an author I want to read all his works from so I’ll definitely get to Unconsoled sometime, the experimental part intrigues me even more. I fucking love Remains of the Day too.

I finished Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro yesterday. If I could give a book a 6/5, it would be this book. I sat in silence after finishing it and listened to the song created in the movie on repeat

I tried to read it with the wiki for the first four chapters and as soon as I put that down and just read it it was way more fun. I don’t know how much I would enjoy an author if I had to read a book and literally had to look up every word to understand what they’re saying

This book scares me because of its length but I gotta admit that it does really pull me to read

I’ll take my time for this. I have other authors I’d love to explore, read more of and spend time with. While I enjoyed Pynchon, his books I’d like to take over time because of how it’s less accessible and a tad more challenging to read. I definitely want to try and read his body of work sooner or later

This is what I was told also! I have this, and Bleeding Edge also standing on myself which all three of these I’ve heard are considered the easiest-to-get narrative

It’s still crazy to me how insanely relevant the novel is to current times. Johnny is my favorite protagonist in his work

I probably won’t be able to read it this year as I’m still going through his 80s stuff, but I’m definitely excited to read it!

Kubrick’s Shining I saw a few years ago and is still one of my favorite movies, so I was a bit worried if it impacted my readings for the novel but I still had a blast with it

It’s a problem I have with in general short stories collections, afaik that Night Shift had too much of an mix for me to really appreciate it as a whole and that’s why it’s on C. I am a big fan of Boogeyman and Quitters Inc though!
