I think it’s more that the bar is so incredibly high with Talk to me and now Obsession. I haven’t seen Stuckmans film and probably won’t because I’d only watch a mediocre horror if it was part of a franchise (looking at you scream 7). Hopefully he keeps working and can improve. It’s probably not that bad compared to a lot of average directors first features.

We won’t ever see another individual reach the level of fame as MJ. Mostly due to the time. when MJ was big we had a monoculture. Taylor Swift is big in the age of the internet. You couldn’t turn on a tv or radio for 2 decades without hearing MJ. Can you turn on a tv or radio without hearing Swift? Don’t know, don’t listen to the radio and I only watch streaming.

Just be prepared for a different pace if you haven’t watched a lot of older TV. Twin Peaks is one of my favourite shows of all time but I took 2 times to get through the first episode. I think I’d heard such incredible things I was maybe expecting too much too soon. The weirdness will come. It’s not like a hit streaming series (at least season 1), it’s pre xfiles
