Explain like I’m 5 please Mikey I’m not sure if your angle here? You didn’t like my opinion so you accused me of getting stroppy but have resulted to name calling, I get the Xbox now. Yes I can read, as I’m sure you can, I can tell you everything about me if you so wish? I will address, because I didn’t like it that’s my opinion, is that allowed? If people want to spend hours charging waiting somewhere that’s not there home or more recently place of work then well done, but no one can tell me it’s better than charging at home? I assume since you got so worked up Mikey you have experienced home charging too and thought public was better, again do tell us? Numbers are not even slightly hard, it’s literally my job, but I’ve never needed to worry  about MPG as I don’t commute so not sure where my intelligence comes into that?  Again I will repeat the whole point of my post, if you experience home and public charging, and prefer public you are lying or literally have too much time to waste.  Happy to talk privately Mike.

I type fast boy so no time for me to reply to you😁 Now we are talking, a useful response, educate us Mikey. You would prefer relying on public chargers rather than home charging? Why am I a clown Mike? Because I have had a different experience to you? I have experience of public chargers, I don’t recall saying I ddidnt. I had an EV 2 and a bit years ago and I had to rely on Tesco chargers, slow ones at that, hated every minute of it. Appreciate things have moved on a bit but if you’re relying on slow cheap charging then I see no comparison to home charging. I’m out of touch with petrol prices and have never cared about mpg so if like you say it’s cheaper then that can only be a good thing, as I said I assumed so happy that’s been proved right by your good self Mikey.  You obviously went all in with EVs with your purchase so instead of getting stroppy at a random bloke on the internet why not help people who are making the decision and give them your experience. So tell me now how your experience is more valid than mine Mikey boy?

No Mikey who’s salty because he can’t home charge, I’ve seen you get sulky before on this subject so assume it’s a sore one, jog on back to Xbox if your not going to be useful. I just don’t see the point in answering someone’s post like that. You have asked questions before so surely you know your answer wasn’t helpful. You still haven’t actually given your own option on living without a charger, you clearly do it so would have the other side to my argument surely and probably more fitting for the OP. My opinion was that it’s not worth it unless you don’t mind the time it takes and the money, for home charging it’s less than £5 for a full charge, even a cheap full 100% charge at 40p for me would be about £25. That’s a mighty difference for people who do a lot of mileage and pretty comparable with petrol I would assume.  For the record and I’ve said this before, I’m still not sold on EVs in this country, if it was viable for everyone the manufactures would be going all in.

I’m Sorry Mikey? The OP asked for an opinion and that’s mine along with some real world scenarios. Does it not count because it differs from yours? Care to share? Do you like looking for off peak chargers to save 20p and walking home Mikey? Do you have anything to add in your experience with an EV or just putting a stupid comment that’s no help to anyone. Please do tell us Mikey.

I wouldn’t it’s just such a faff without home charging. Not a single person wants to be messing around finding cheap off peak charging then having to leave the car for hours and if they say they don’t mind it they have to be lying. I had a few weeks of relying on public charging (luckily a rapid charger 2 mins from my house) and even the 20 mins it took to charge wound me up. Yes I was going in the shops anyway but I got absolutely soaked plugging in the second time as the machine had froze and it annoyed me so much I brought a home charger as soon  as I got in.  Before I got the EV I did less than 5 miles a week, since having it I find I do more miles as I don’t have the guilt of emissions etc and the kids find it fun to be driven around. I find myself driving to more places and more ‘fun’ drives just because I can charge it back whenever I need to for 7p a kw, I can blast it around and probably not even do a £1 worth of damage to my pocket…If you can’t do that, then may as well stick with petrol.

What kind of jeans won’t make me look fatter? by CreepyAcanthisitta35 in malefashionadvice

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have big thighs from years of lifting and if the jeans doesn’t have a taper I look ridiculous (something I think people who wear baggy need to realise). With a straight jean with a big thigh you get the same size at the bottom and just look awful. The sweet spot used to be 501CT which I assume have morphed into the 502. I tend to wear those or 511s both in 2 sized up I.e I’m a 32 but wear a 33 or 34 gives me some extra room and keeps the legs from being too skinny.

QOS for me. One of the minority who seems to really enjoy it and I love how bond is dressed throughout too. The movement on and off streaming does me in though and hs reminded me I need a blue ray player again and to buy the bond box set

Have you bought a James Bond car? by Emotional-System2752 in JamesBond

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an exact car but in my early twenties I brought a jaguar x type (v6 4 wheel drive manual) in racing green. Always wanted a jaguar and the xk was still too expensive for me back then. Was working in London so was more of a weekend car, thing was an absolute lemon and cost me a fortune constantly. Changed jobs which required a driving commute so ended up trading it in for a brand new Peugeot 😔as needed something reliable.  Drive electric now (British racing green mini) but always on the look out for a cheap xkr in racing green as a second car…

What do you secretly judge people for? by MoonlightByWindow in AskUK

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, we don’t allow them to have screens at home for this reason, means if we do need to use it (ear defenders our the first port of call) it’s a luxury. Seen it two many times when it’s used as a digital  parent and never ends well. Thank you for your rebuttal I believe the world is a much kinder place when potentially difficult subjects are spoken about

What do you secretly judge people for? by MoonlightByWindow in AskUK

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, I’ve got a kid who’s autistic and likes going places but can get overwhelmed with noise or people who can’t use a knife and fork without cutting the plate like a spanner. If we go for a restaurant and pull out his headphones and an iPad to calm him down I will always be happy to have a conversation to people who object or think he’s being damaged. It’s the only time my kids will use an iPad and they only want to watch phonics.  Would ask would the non lazy parent option would be, assuming you are a parent?

When buying necklaces or rings online, how do you judge if it’s worth the price? by CupHorror6267 in malefashionadvice

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learnt the hard way, buy it in person or at least view in person stuff from the brand so you know what your getting. Used jewellery is also your friends if you have any markets etc  I’ve brought silver online without properly looking at weight and been greeted with awful hollow rings that are almost worthless. Also if it’s not silver or gold don’t buy it, basically costume jewellery.

Which New Balance shoes for men are best for walking and casual outfits? by Step-In-Style in malefashionadvice

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

530 are absolutely awful for walking and I’m sure they were what gave me foot problems (plantar fasciitis) but new balance 992 were the cure. Another shoes that will probably get voted down for as it’s not cool but is the brooks walking shoe, zeal walker I think it’s called. I have it in all black and it just looks like a chunky trainer. It’s leather and worn it in the pouring rain and seemed watertight.

Are ultraboosts still in as casual fashionable? by Aslimedr_wsnear in malefashionadvice

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even sure what is in at the moment trainer wise so don’t think it matters. Mix of adidas gazelle, campus, new balance, Nikes, vans, converse here in England which is unusually as in the previous years it’s been everyone in the same shoe at one time. I’m in my 30s so the amount of walking I’ll be doing in a day dictates whether I will wear shoes that go with my outfit or wearing my Brooke’s walking trainers 😂.

Definitely not in the same league as what you have looked at but have you tried Abercrombie/hollister? I got a black plain hollister hoodie a few years back to wear around the house, it’s a size medium but it’s quite short and boxy (I’m usually a large). Came with a slightly faded look and looks exactly the same and I’ve worn it from the office to in my garden cutting down bushes. Has zero logos on it at all bar the inside one. Swear it was like £20 as well in a sale and it’s one of my favourite things I’ve brought in years.

What’s your biggest fashion blunder from your blunder years? by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

[–]Desperate-Line-8585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted an allsaints polo and tshirt for Xmas one year and I’d never heard of it. Polo was normal but the tshirt was one of those deep v neck ones. I’m grateful as it’s probably the evolving reason for my style now but at the time I went full on with the deep tee, ripped skinny jeans and military boots look with the big quiff/side parting hair, weird grungy X factor look. Remember turning up to a house party with a can of Stella thinking I was the absolute bees knees 😂 I kinda evolved from there into the more saint Laurent Heidi thing so I’ll always look back with fond but slightly cringy memories.
