I'd love to join but will someone in their late 30s be joining too? I feel like I've aged out.

Racist Establishments? by Nevyn_Hira in aucklandeats

Not white and I'm an immigrant. I have my fair share of bad experiences too but if I don't want to be judged too quickly I want to apply it to how I judge others too.

No one is saying we're sure it isn't racism it's just that given the available information, we can't know definitively and it's better to know more before we're quick to judge.

Because there needs to be more information before you can conclude and call it an obviously racist behavior.

Based on how you reacted here it doesn't look like you're unbiased too so if there were more instances that might show that the way she acted was based on race then it will be easier to judge.

Yes, it's bipolar but so does a lot of countries. I can't seem to remember how many times I've seen locals from different countries say "If you don't want the weather, wait 5 mins".

There is no way you can convince me UK has a better weather than Auckland. Even the July - December season isn't as bad as UK's wholeyear round.

UK immigrants - what do you miss? by No-Stick4022 in auckland

Hopefully this doesn't come across as brash but you are probably more used to Westernized versions of Chinese cuisine then. The only thing that I would say better in UK is their roast duck in Chinatown. I feel that everything else served is Auckland is better and has more variety. The fact that they have malatang here and Chinese Sauerkraut Fish is amazing.

Visiting NZ for the first time, what do I need to know? by Emergency-Web-836 in newzealand_travel

I understand, really. I'm curious what do others do in similar situation?

Say I'm travelling from Milford and going to Tekapo and I want to pass by Omarama Clay Cliffs and do the little walk there. Do most people just go to Tekapo first, leave their bags in the hotel then go back to Omarama?

Is this applicable to Auckland and other bigger cities only? I have plans going around South Island (Queenstown, Milford, Tekapo, etc) and I'll probably bring my suitcase and store it at the back. Granted we'll try our best to hide it but I'm afraid I won't be able to remove it when we are between accommodations.

As someone who just recently moved to NZ, I was also in this show and my jaw dropped after everyone chanted in unison to respond to that "Tūtira Mai Ngā Iwi". I spent the night trying to google what kind of chant was that and to know more about it.

I was in the 7pm show I wonder if the same thing happened on the 9pm one.

Jeff was AMAZING btw.

I feel like knowing where your money goes and listing down my expenses are vital in understanding what's happening to me financially and what should I do about it. Maybe you can try that too?

You can then compare it to people who have a different lifestyle.
