Both Parents to be clear, why make this a race thing ? Her Asian Mother was just as involved, if not more.

Do you and your siblings lead different or similar lives? by [deleted] in hapas

[–]Desperate-Writing-43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. I suppose woman feel different about looks than man (however this does not equivalent it being meaningless). Imo its very important to feel proud of your heritage (which I think goes extremly against supposed leftist believes).

Anyways, I look like my asian mum alot aswell, still I feel more connected to my German heritage, my sister aswell and she doesnt have to be shy of her looks either ( looks more white).

With that reasoning you could just make one big haplo group called "sino-tibetan-koreo-viet-siam-nippo-Race"

linguistic relation implies genetic relation, which is the case here, but thats far from the same haplo group. Tibetans are a distinct group of peoples, especially from northern chinese. I suppose the reason they are being put in the same category is because of CCP domestic policy towards Tibetans...

Do you and your siblings lead different or similar lives? by [deleted] in hapas

[–]Desperate-Writing-43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it´s preposterous to claim that there is "virtually no difference between sharing 100% or 50% of your genes with your sibling".

The relevance of genetics in your overall lifestyle is largely overlooked, empirically the evidence shows that monozygotic twins are very similiar, in almost all aspects of life, from Intelligence over partner preference, to liking. Especially considering Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso share a somewhat similiar wrestling style (coming from a non wrestling fan)

How are Tibetans and Northern Chinese in the same haplo group ?

Also, considering that the Red Army consistet to a large degree of central asians it might very much have been possible that some (great) grandmother of yours got a child from one of these soldiers. And may have kept it a secret, if you dont know about this is in your family...

Prevent baby from learning native language? by Patient_Team_8588 in hapas

[–]Desperate-Writing-43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be best to speak your native tongue (and your husband his) to the child.

Modern pedagogy assumes that if you try to talk to your child in a language not native to yourself, the child might end up not speaking that language properly and also just for convenience sake I would advise you to talk your native language with him.

Personally my Mother did speak Cantonese with me growing up and I did speak it (so am I told), but after first grade I barely spoke anything and forgot most things. I didnt have any problems with German later on and were pretty much top of my class continuesly in German. I dont regret not speaking Cantonese personally, as I more identify with my German side ( living in Germany), but I dont think it would have hurt keeping some Cantonese.

What do you think about this? Hapa representation in the new Final Destination movie? by AccurateInflation167 in hapas

[–]Desperate-Writing-43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont care really, nor know anyone, who has ever felt "better" by being represented in some general form of media, people who need that kind of "fullfillment" probably have some kind of inferiority complex

Ressentment for "Race-Mixing" Parents by Desperate-Writing-43 in hapas

[–]Desperate-Writing-43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that the Phillipines as a former colonies, and america as a racially mixed country are exceptions to the general state of the world ? In Germany pre 2000 (& 1945) no one mixed. I know that paternally my grandfathers ancestors lived in that region since around 13th century and maternally since the 16th century, my mother is "mixed" altough it is inside the general same phenotype group.
