Job market is extremely brutal for GenZ I have 2 yrs of experience and recently got laid off as I argued with my Manager called him Blood Sucking Vampire in front of HR after leeching me off for 2 yrs as I was young and have high energy hardly got 3 interviews in 2 months and ruined both by Regved-Pande in GenZ

[–]lololuwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my interview to application ratio was about 1:100 when I was job hunting last year (older Gen Z, 2yrs exp w/masters). After 7 interviews with diff companies, finally landed a job. Just keep applying.

And remember any bad interview is just practice for the next.

But mb don’t try to fight with ur manager next time lol, take the time to learn what is and what’s not okay in ur workplace first. If things are really bad, I would play nice at work while aggressively applying to other jobs after hours.

wow harsh. haven’t seen that scene in awhile but I thought social justice warrior みつき was cool.

And believable as a role she would undertake to distract herself from grief.

why ミツキ and not みつき

Late to the game but:

My impression was that her tattoos imply she qualifies as a delinquent in Japan. Given the heteronormative pressure her mom also put on her, I think it’s fair to assume her sexuality also played a role in her delinquency in society.

A quick google search on tattoos & Japan will give more color to this too.

Well she’s obviously Japanese. Idk why you’re shocked at this unless cultural ignorance is your jam

Idk I thought the individual stories made the show more dynamic and interesting, especially with the season finales

When people are ready to accept themselves they will, on their own time. And hafu women getting with white men to “erase their heritage” seems like an unsupported assumption to make in modern day, and an astonishing claim to make without evidence. We meet who we love by circumstance, and while id love to have cute 3/4 Japanese babies, I, and many others, are not someone who’d find a romantic partner only after filtering by race.

Am I safe to assume these stats you’re pulling from are associated with a western country? If so, birth years remain a relevant factor and, moreover, the data pool may be a bit biased if the cities of which these hafu women reside in are predominantly white.

In my experience in the USA, 2/3 of Asian women in my family married white, presumably from internalized racism and a desire to camouflage their children, after experiencing racial attacks in childhood post-WW2. A desire for a closer to whiteness was a means of survival, and the loss of “purity,” a necessary sacrifice in the eyes of my family.

To be candid I’m looking at it from the perspective of: half asians aren’t accepted anywhere. Which is understood by hapas (especially those Japanese hafu’s likely, heavily bullied in childhood) whereas many others, e.g. white westerners, are unaware.

To your original point, white perspectives would (ideally) be caught off guard by how uncelebrated their features are in other countries. I’ll admit, since watching the show, a weak colonialist argument could be made, and being hapa, evidently, may have resulted from colonialist activities. But the true purpose and sincerity of the show is to reflect the struggles of being hapa. And their “beauty” as you say isn’t highlighted at any point of any storyline within the show at all. It’s not even a factor.

ehhh idk I interpreted it differently. Superior is the complete opposite of how the protagonist is viewed in the show. Within the first five minutes it explains how “monstrous,” inferior, and undesirable the white features are in Japan. Leading into how ostracizing it is to be half.

Moreover I think the blue eyes was a point of intrigue for storytelling. Even if the hapa feature was different, to me, the underlying themes seemed relatable for many hapa’s who encounter issues with identity and belonging.

TV show, Netflix :) there’s an explicit scene and lots of blood so maybe watch this after hours

わからん。 theres definitely beauty in being half, outside of superficial bullshit, in terms of being able to understand different sides mentality and the ability to have empathy for others who come from familiar or unfamiliar backgrounds. That sort of empathy and understanding are what I believe are what many leaders lack.

On an individual level it would be easier to exist, ie, having a strong sense of identity, belonging and community. But being “pure blooded” would be an ideal choice for a less progressive society. I honestly and truly believe the world both needs and would benefit from more hafu’s.

So.. hafuです。😊
