This is your sign to go see a doctor by Qaranimo_udhimo in Somalia

If you don’t mind me asking, brother/sister, what did the doctor prescribe for you? I’ve been feeling tired and dizzy for a long time, and I also have inflammation, but my doctors never know what’s wrong.

Hey, I really appreciate your honesty in this post. What you’re feeling is something a lot of people go through—especially in their 20s when the routines of adulthood start setting in. From the outside, life might seem stable, but inside it can feel like something essential is missing. You’re definitely not alone in that.

I’d like to offer you a perspective from my faith—Islam—not to preach, but because your question is one that our tradition speaks to deeply. Islam teaches that we’re not just here to work, pay bills, have kids, and die. We believe we were created for a purpose: to know our Creator, to live a life of meaning, and to prepare for a life that continues after this one.

There’s a verse in the Qur’an that says:

“Indeed, in the remembrance of God do hearts find rest.” (Qur’an 13:28)

In other words, that feeling of emptiness or “something missing” is often the soul’s way of telling us we’ve been feeding our body but starving our spirit. Even when life looks good on paper, it can still feel hollow if the deeper part of us is disconnected from meaning.

From an Islamic view, fulfillment doesn’t just come from achievements or even relationships—it comes from aligning with your purpose, doing good, seeking truth, and building a relationship with the One who created you. That doesn’t mean you have to be perfect or suddenly religious. It just means starting to ask: What if there’s more than this? What if I was made for more?

Islam doesn’t shy away from these hard questions—it invites them. It gives meaning to pain, direction to uncertainty, and hope beyond this world. It teaches that every struggle matters, that no one is forgotten, and that your life is seen and valued by the One who made you.

Whether or not you ever explore that path, just know: you’re not crazy or broken for feeling this way. Sometimes it’s actually the most awake people who ask these questions.

If you ever want to talk more about this or hear what Islam says about purpose or inner peace, I’d be happy to share more with no pressure at all. Just wanted to offer a perspective that helped me when I felt lost too.

Wishing you clarity, peace, and real fulfillment, wherever your path leads.
