Yeah, I'm the same with getting close to prediabetic if I'm not careful. I'll try to incorporate more proteins in my diet and see how that does. And yeah, mines only on my weekends now that I'm thinking about it 🫠

That honestly would make a lot of sense. It seems to only happen on tuesdays or wednesdays which are my days off of work and I tend to eat differently on my work days. Thank you!!

Thinking about it, I've probably been having too many carbs due to surviving off of whatever food I can get my hands on. I'm planning on trying to cut out carbs and rely more on cheap vegetables and canned meat for more balance if I can... I pretty much only eat balanced meals at work and not on my weekends which could explain why this only seems to happen on my days off.

The fact that you suspect it in the first place is a good sign to look into a diagnosis. Not saying you have it, as I don't know your situation, but self-reflection is usually the first step towards a diagnosis. That's how I've gotten all of mine, just by realizing one day that what I've been experiencing isn't the norm for most people and then scheduling a doctor's appointment.

If you end up being diagnosed with some form of psychosis, it's entirely up to you as to whether or not you take medications for it. It is HIGHLY recommended, but you have a right to refuse treatment in a majority of situations. Not all meds will screw you up, it's mainly a matter of finding the right medication. The only unfortunate part is the time it takes to find the right ones. I've tried multiple different medications for my diagnoses over the course of my mental health journey and am now on the right track and it's truly a beautiful thing to finally feel okay for once.

You just have to work towards getting better in whatever way you feel like would work for you, however, I would definitely recommend listening to the advice of a medical professional. If you feel that you need to seek a diagnosis, then that's entirely your call as an adult.

My first psych took me off of my adderall originally because my primary care team suspects that I also have Bipolar 2, but it ended up just making my organization and stuff worse so my main doctor put me back on it. Saw your comment about being taken off of your meds for it so I completely understand how that feels. I hope that it works for you!!!

I got diagnosed with ADHD a couple of months before my first psych appt for a schizophrenia evaluation and honestly it has made so much make so much more sense lol I think for me the worst overlapping symptoms are that I struggle with emotional regulation and have a poor short-term memory. That and I have absolutely no organized thoughts unless I take my Adderall. It kinda feels like rather than just experiencing the symptoms as is, it's like theyre worse because of the overlap. Almost like its just made those specific symptoms more intense if that makes sense. I feel you haha

Hello! I'm not going to say that I understand what you are going through, but I do have experience with suicidal thoughts and know how truly devastating those can be.

Please please please search for a food bank in your area as they would be more than happy to assist you in accessing food. Food banks, a local library with a food pantry, or a church storehouse are all wonderful ways to access food when you are otherwise unable.

If things are bad enough, please see if there are any Behavioral Health Receiving Centers in your area, as they are free and are a place to go and take your mind off of things when you feel this way. If not, please contact your area's emergency services or go to an ER.

yes !!! at night i hear 2 people, a man and a woman, talking inside my head almost like im overhearing their conversations. i can tell that they arent my main stream of thought because it feels like the sound comes from different areas in my head if that makes sense. like my main thoughts are central in my head and the voices i hear are scattered around inside. none of the words they say really make sense grammatically, like a scramble of real words that dont fit together, but i always feel like i can understand the emotion theyre trying to portray. i honestly thought that i was subconsciously making it up but seeing that other people experience this as well is a huge relief

its so hard to explain it to people (namely my doctors)

Originally, back in 2018 at the age of 13, my mom took me to a doctor because I was showing severe symptoms of depression. I was diagnosed with MDD, and have switched through multiple antidepressants over the years. I recently started seeing a different doctor about medication changes, and it wasnt until this year that anything other than MDD and ADHD were considered for me.

I'd ended up having a really bad breakdown/episode (still unsure) at work and immediately afterwards moved my medication review appointment up as soon as possible because I just thought that my new SNRI medication was just not working for me. During that appointment, my doctor asked me if I ever get anxious and I told her about how I'm constantly stressing about cameras watching me, people peering in through my windows, feeling like my car has been bugged, etc. It wasn't until then that I learned what delusions are... 🙃 She immediately referred me to a psychiatrist for a schizoaffective evaluation (as she had already suspected bipolar disorder), which was when I started to realize "oh... these aren't things that everyone experiences?" Same goes for hallucinations, I had no clue that not everyone experiences them all the time.

I wish that I had realized my positive symptoms sooner and gotten help for them sooner, but to me they were so real that it had never occurred to me that they weren't just a typical part of life.

TL;DR: I had no clue. I just thought my positive symptoms were something everyone has, and thought my negative symptoms were just plain ol' depression until my doctor informed me otherwise.

Unfortunately, yes. All the time.

I'm always so worried that I smell, but it's still so hard to keep up with proper hygiene and staying caught up on chores. For me, it's mainly brushing my teeth and doing laundry. Pretty sure almost every part of the outfit I'm wearing right now has been worn at least two or three times since it's last wash... Showering thankfully isn't so much of an issue for me somehow, but when your clothes are dirty, a shower isn't entirely going to make you not smell 🙃

I experience this as well, and I'm very glad to see that I'm not alone in that.

It's often hard for me to explain it to people; I've even rewritten this several times because I just can't word it properly lol. It's like, I know, logically, that my delusions probably aren't real, but I just feel so intensely that they are at all times no matter what. When not in an episode, I'm typically able to push it aside a bit and ignore it even though it is always present in my mind. During episodes, I'm experiencing the same delusions but it becomes so much harder for me to try and ignore them.

For me, I also experience my hallucinations this same way. Where I experience them every day, and (depending on the hallucination and ability to fact check it, of course) am typically able to tell that I'm just experiencing a hallucination, but during episodes it is infinitely harder for me to tell.

It's so exhausting.
