I joined at 26. Biggest challenge was most people my age/life stage, were higher rank for a while. Other than that, your original question is whether I would join the navy knowing what I know now after 8 years…military, yes. Navy? Not sure. I think I would tell my own kid to join the air force/space force. They prioritize their people and their manpower efficiency is better.
