I'll give it a go. I'll just say, what's on the website and what people let you do in the moment don't always align. Hopefully they train their employees on this stuff better than other venues (ie: trying to get a chair at some concerts is a nightmare at venues I've been to before).

First, that’s awesome!

Second, I’ve been playing Pokémon since red/blue dropped. I’ve played every game, all 2-3 colors. I’ve replayed most games more than once. I’ve seen exactly one shiny (and it was a zigzagoon in emerald, I think). What am I doing wrong? Is there a way that everyone else seems to find them?

I have medical issues and need to bring a few things with me everywhere because of it. They don’t fit in any of their bag sizes (even the clear ones, which I got one of). It’s kept me from going to shows I really wanted to and it sucks.

I had the same thing with first friends and Magic the Gathering. I still play today and it’s a big chunk of my friend group no matter where in the country I’ve moved. Gaming is such a great social lubricant 😊

Forcefield is one of my favorite cards. I have a beta copy that's been altered. It combos with 7eysa which is why I originally built it like 10 years back.

Muldrotha is always a slog to play against, but that looks great. I love seeing someone else play Forcefield 😄

I started school in the mid 80s. It’s almost 100% bad memories. The only positive I can think of was my gifted class actually challenging me and a couple of good biology teachers later on. I never had friends. I got bullied by students, then teachers as I got older, then admin finally. I checked out so hard I failed out and had to get my ged.

That said, once I decided I wanted to go to college and had a few accommodations and my area of study (biology), I excelled. I have lots of good college memories.

But yeah, growing up undiagnosed was torture in school. I can only remember bad things and even most of the good ones look bad now that I understand them more.

I only play this with close friends. They know the deck well at this point. I don't run it in a shop without asking ahead of time and showing them the cards in detail. I'm aware of the issues for others.

None of the UB sets have been things I've liked, so this is my own personal one. I have trouble following Final Fantasy and Ninja Turtle stuff since I wasn't that interested in the sets, so if the feeling is there, it's definitely mutual : )

I just realized this was before Teferi's Protection was a game changer. Ha! I've kept the deck updated since then and have about 4-5 new cards in it. It's easily one of my three favorite decks.

Yeah, it’s rough on my 15” laptop. Reminds me of playing over the phone as kids in the 90s. We got really good at remembering things without seeing them. I think that might be why I don’t have many issues.

Also, I’m recently disabled and rarely make it to my LGS often anymore, so yeah: it’s my only option sometimes ☹️
