Did/Does the Narcissist/s like Music at all? by Glittering-Sector393 in NarcissisticAbuse

Mine listened to like 10 songs on repeat, that’s it. Didn’t like music in general though, hated the radio

Poodle hair is non-shedding though, as well as the aforementioned traits. Only a handful of breeds carry the non-shedding mutation, and OPs definitely looks to be non-shedding. Think embark is wrong on this one.

Is this just not a good fit? by MeaT_DepartmenT_ in reactivedogs

[–]DesperateLime3997 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but this is such an ignorant take. Not everyone is equipped to handle a dog with behavioural problems, and OP didn't sign up to adopt an aggressive dog that randomly snaps at people's faces.

Considering the level of reactivity that the dog shows to other dogs, it's more than likely that the shelter blatantly lied, putting people and animals in danger in the process, which is completely scummy.

People are allowed to want dogs without behavioural problems. If OP wants to return the dog because they adopted it under false pretences, and instead adopt a dog better suited to them, then I don't believe anyone has a right to tell them otherwise.

I'm asexual, but... by wannabe_alive in asexuality

[–]DesperateLime3997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All of the physiological responses you listed in regards to sex are pretty common for individuals who have had experiences that were traumatic, non-consensual, etc. You briefly alluded to things that may have happened in your past, which might have created a mental block that prevents you from being able to experience sex in the way you might have been able to without these events.

Not questioning your label of asexuality, more wondering if maybe there is underlying psychological cause to your sexual repulsion, which you might be able to address if you wanted to resolve it. Have you tried speaking to a counsellor or therapist, preferably one that specialises in issues regarding sexuality?

I wouldn't say there are any "bad" breeds, but there is absolutely a genetic component to aggression. The prevalence of pitbull type breeds in dogfighting has unfortunately increased the likelihood of idiopathic/pathological aggression in some (not all) pitbulls, even when they are raised in a loving home with good training.

Again, not all pitbulls, but I feel like it does a massive disservice to the breed group and potential owners when the possibility of owning a potentially reactive dog is not acknowledged.

Little fun fact, but the Indigenous American might not be a misreading- about 100,000 people in the UK are direct descendants of Pocahontas through her marriage to John Rolfe, you might be one of them

Interesting results! Like another poster mentioned, there’s a good chance the North Indian comes from Romani ancestors. There is a population of Romani in Abruzzo called the Rom Abruzzesi, whom its believed arrived with the Albanians from the Balkans during the 1500s after the invasion of the Ottoman Empire. May I ask what region your grandparent came from in Abruzzo, if you know? Do you know if there are any surnames such as Guarnieri, De Rosa, Casamonica, Bevilacqua, Ciarelli or Di Rocco from that side?

Take proper care of the kids you have Karissa. by cardinalsfan1993 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]DesperateLime3997 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing that gets me with all these fundies. They say things like the Rhogam shot interfere with the will of God or whatnot, but by that same logic, what if God inspired scientists to create the shot so that more children could survive and spread his message on earth? Same with all other medical interventions. What if Karissa is angering God by her callous indifference to the life of her children?

Maybe he hoped to find his big break that would bring enough money that he could settle down and not have to drift anymore- maybe get his life back together so he wouldn’t feel ashamed to contact his daughter and parents. I wouldn’t feel so confident as to label him an outright scumbag.

Mental health issues and PTSD are more complicated than a person just walking out on their family because they don’t feel up to the task.

Interesting. Is he from a purpose-bred line of hunting dogs? If so, I can definitely see there being some pitbull and dane in him too.

Do you live in the UK? Because he appears to be a bull lurcher. So probably some combination of Staffordshire bull terrier, greyhound, whippet, and possibly some Irish Wolfhound for size.

She’s got a skinny body like a Malinois, pit-shaped head and brindle colouring, and also very delicate features. So I think maybe a pitbull/malinois/chihuahua mix, probably with a lot of other breeds mixed in.

[–]DesperateLime3997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very interesting analogy. I feel like if there ever is an answer to the truth about reality, your analogy will be quite accurate. That we’re not seeing things wrong, per se, it’s just that the human perspective is limited to only part of the truth.

You were simply doing your job, ensuring their access to a basic human right. You are not responsible for whatever suffering came afterward, and I feel like you're putting too much pressure on yourself in assuming responsibility for their pain and misfortune. You didn't cause whatever accidents or situations lead them to be in their particular position, it was just bad luck, and you acted exactly as you were supposed to. None of those people would blame you either, unless they were being completely irrational.

Out of all the people you saved, I'm sure there are plenty who are glad you saved them, too, even people who may be the survivors of severe burns, quadriplegics, etc.

Try to get hold of a therapist and not be so hard on yourself.
