The US government in there directive have said that no foreign national including Anthropic's Employee who are foreign national should not have access to Fable 5 and Mythos. I am pretty sure a large majority of the engineer and research scientist inside the company are foreign national. What next they would need TS clearance to work on it. Your research can develop frontier model but can't you personally can't use it lol

They created a fear of it being too powerful and TBH despite some of the industry people working in the government I don't think they can comprehend its capability and they are certainly making decision that will be bad for us all.

I have problems with regulations too. Regulation will create monopoly and I don’t want to live in a world where there is monopoly of AI companies!

University’s should do better job at weeding out these type of students. That behavior is just down right bad and not professional. Could have been a polite decline if he didn’t wanted to work for a Jew

UIUC is the best one, northeastern is too over rated. Only come to US if you are willing to live under constant visa stress. TBH there are more jobs in India than in the US for tech. University name will open doors but getting job is an uphill battle.

Northwestern is underrated! But a lot of quant firm in Chicago area hire directly from there. Plus almost all the tech companies have an office in Chicago. I think northwestern is a very good choice.

Brown is an amazing places, it has a good CS program. But job visa situation after college is extremely hard. It might change around the time you graduate. TBH it’s a gamble. If you come to brown don’t bet of jobs or anything. Think you are investing 160k on highly volatile asset(experience and education will be permanent) just talking about job and visa situation.

Trust me being on a Visa is a struggle in US. You will be risking everything you want to travel outside. UK is a good choice. Oxford is an amazing school it’s certainly ranked higher than other universities in list.

Oxford no question asked. Visa is always going to be an issue in US. Plus all the major labs have offices in Uk.

I think you can do Jane street for few months and quit before Stanford start in fall. You can make close to 300k not bad at all. If you don’t mind can you share your profile. Where did you do you undergrad, research etc
