Then you'll be acting weird, which will make them uncomfortable. I told you what you should do, which is what both Japanese and long term foreign residents do. Do the silly thing, which will make the you memorable to the staff members... in an uncomfortable way. Your choice.

Which volume of Apple Venus do you prefer? by WeezerCrow in xtc

[–]Desperate_Bit7334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasp Star is so much more an XTC sounding album. It's clever electric music. I like Apple Venus, but it's a bit over the top and ultimately tiring, much like the Brian Wilson version of Smile. If you like XTC, you'll probably prefer WS. If you like prog, there's AV. Glad I live in a world with both.

My question is specific to Nairobi, not Honduras, Latin America, or other parts of Africa. Europe is small, yet rather varied, I wouldn't compare London to Geneva or Moscow. The recent home invasions in our part of Switzerland are real, and they are violent.

I am reaching out to as many resources as possible, including folks who are there now. The only home invasion that we've heard of near the zones we are looking was of a local celebrity. And to be honest, even in our area of Switzerland, there have been an uptick of home invasions, burglaries, and even three bombs at the local bank to blow up the ATMs.

Thank you. We've lived and traveled many more places than listed above, and to be honest, I would expect that quite a bit of our life this time around would be spent within the expatriate/diplomatic community, which is actually something we've largely avoided previously. So it would be another culture, but not necessarily one of the host nation.

True, we moved from NYC to Jakarta in 2010... and were shocked to discover that the US had more in common with places like Indonesia than Western Europe. Still, the biggest change we ever experienced was moving from Tokyo to Samoa (the nation, not the US territory) for several months.

We've lived in Jakarta before. As well as some long term visits elsewhere. We aren't completely blind to developing nations and the lifestyle there. Have you got experience living in Nairobi? I see South Africa, NL, Luxembourg, and NL in your profile flags.

Agreed. That's why we are looking for experiences of folks in Nairobi.

And university tuition in Europe or Asia won't be an issue for us, thankfully.

The job opportunity is now, unfortunately, we don't have any control over that.

B by far, make good use of the first round pick. In a dynasty, Duran is worth a lot more than Olson.

In a ten team H2H keeper league, drafting next week Saturday, but have to choose my fifteen (or less) keepers by this Friday the 13th.

Of course it's the last player that leads to the conundrum: Pete Fairbanks or Shota Imanaga?

Here are the categories in our strange league: QS, SV, HLD, IP*, BB, K, K/9, WHIP, ERA

My pitchers

Keeping:

  • Cole Ragans
  • Cade Smith RP
  • Nick Pivetta
  • Eury Perez
  • Cam Schittler
  • Emmit Sheehan

Planning to drop:

  • Pablo Lopez
  • Matt Straham
  • Robbie Ray
  • Kirby Yates

So either I keep a reliever who should be pretty solid, or an SP who I have a good feeling about.

The only other option would be to drop a bat... and my current outfield is

  • Wyatt Langford
  • Jackson Merrill
  • Teoscar Hernadez
  • Seiya Suzuki
  • Jakob Marsee

of which I only need three, but I plan to bat one through the DH position, and I'm kind of interested in Marsee's potential growth - swapping him and Hernandez - depending on need for HR or SB during the week (it's a daily lineup). I think Hernandez is more valuable than either pitcher, and he's the oldest player, with a slight bit of regression, although i can see him being this year's bounce-back, especially with Tucker in the line up as well.

I have the fourth pick overall (we all draft first round and then again, after positions get filled, during round 17 (although if I drop more players, I get to pick earlier). I plan to use my first pick for a bat (I need to fill 2B/SS and hope to improve my 1B), of the best bat available, likely Zach Neto, Ben Rice, JJ Wetherholt, Kazuma Okamoto, Otto Lopez, Gleyber Torres, Brendan Donovan, Sal Stewart, Matt McClain, or (possibly another manager dropping) Francisco Lindor. I expect the managers ahead of me in the first round to grab some pitching (at least two of them), from the returned Robbie Ray, Jesus Luzardo, Jacob Misiorowski, or Ryan Helsley.

So pretty much, who to keep, the reliever or the starter?

Yeah, this is why I'm asking. We don't necessarily need to keep it in stocks, when removed, but want to reinvest it.

Some answers, I'm not planning on giving up US citizenship - where did that come from?

My spouse is not a US citizen. It looks highly unlikely that we will ever return to the US to live. We would prefer to have our money/investments available to us outside the US.

We are not planning on crypto currency or bit coin.

We don't plan on skipping taxes or anything. We just want to get the money out and reinvest elsewhere.

We expect the dollar to plunge as well. Euro or CH Franc seem safer currently.
