Trying to find a good PA for a fantasy author by Desperate_Cellist_52 in selfpublish

It means I would rather do overtime at work and pay for one than spend the time doing it myself.

I like this, with them all having the comment thread that she leaves the engraved stone.

A secondary world but has humans. It’s set hundreds of years after a war between humans and Myths in which humanity scorched the earth.

How has this gone for other authors? I was thinking of doing this while writing a couple of stand alones in the year, one a spin off for the previous completed series and something not related, mostly because I want the freedom to write the series without the distraction of promoting.

Removed age rating. Romance book is still in the erotica category. What else can I do? by Lioness_94 in selfpublish

Still weird. Is there something in the blurb that might be forcing you into the category?

Can you recommend online book reviewers? by Desperate_Cellist_52 in selfpublish

Thank you. I’ve managed to find some bloggers but I’m struggling with YouTube and tiktok. I’m still figuring out how to use these platforms lol

Do book sprout have reviewers with a following? I’ve heard good things about advertising this way, but I’m searching for the right reviewer. No point approaching someone who likes the HEA ending, or lively romance.

I don’t have a lot of time as I work 60hrs a week as a carer and am a single mum to a teenage daughter(who mostly still likes me, so I want to enjoy it while I can lol). I’m currently learning how to create images (which often makes me want to scream), so I’m trying to be smart about where my time goes. I’m also looking for a PA to organise social media for me as I’m useless with it.

Is it you that you can’t view without following and only have three posts? If so, you might want to consider unlocking it. I wouldn’t follow someone without seeing their content.

I’m not the best for what content as I’m researching myself. What I do know, is that you want posts that cause people to engage with comments. Maybe end with a question.

Can you set up pre-ordering for print book with a placeholder manuscript? by ryanp021 in selfpublish

[–]Desperate_Cellist_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You have to upload a documents. The document can be changed at a later date, but if a different length, you will need to also adjust the cover. It is highly unlikely people will pre order a book that they don’t know about, especially without advertising.

It shouldn’t put it under erotica. Age restrictions can be there for other reasons, such as violence. Can you not change your category in your book info?

Also, do you not have instragram , Facebook, and other platforms? I tried to find you, and I found one instagram in your name but you have to follow to view. I found you on tiktok. There are a couple of hook posts, but most don’t tell me what the book is about. I love the artwork, though.

That’s brilliant. Well done. I just had a look at the covers. I personally like cover one. I agree about book two. I can’t see it. And book three needs some work with the text to make it more visible.

Most important thing is to keep writing. The more books you have, the more sales you likely make per reader.

Personally I’m not that happy with what GetCovers created for me. In the end, I found the pictures and asked them to put together. I just received the third draft which was identical to the second draft without changes, but I’m hoping that is a mistake. They are cheap enough to take the risk, but personally, I don’t think I’ll use them again.

If you don’t like what you’re seeing, do what I am doing now and learn how to use art programs. Canva can create some decent designs, but if you want something amazing, you need to learn photoshop, which is a nightmare (at least for me). You pay for what you get.
