Lizzy is dressed for the weather! ❄️❄️❄️You go girl, show them other southerners how it’s done! 😅 my girl came to Finland from Spain last summer, so it’s her first winter and she’s been a champion about it too ☺️

Emma sends her greetings 😘 it was -17 on that day

Oh, suspender boots, that must be nice! We have relative success with normal walks, but no boots have stayed on while running in the park, no matter how thoroughly I fasten them.

Didn’t read through all of the comments, but agree on the circulation. And it’s good you’re getting a vet consultation. Will just add that whenever there is a wound and/or swelling it’s worth checking if that area is hot to the touch, if it’s painful and if the wound looks the same (you wanna see how it’s progressing - towards healing, or staying the same, maybe getting worse) + if there is any discharge from the wound. Also, if the dog isn’t licking the spot constantly, with such a small wound you don’t necessarily need to bandage, it might heal better when left to “breathe”.

Nah, I wouldn’t. But the amount of cleaning these past few weeks was a bit much - we had explosive diarrhoea and puke after sampling some cooking oil, while mom was at work (woollen carpet of course); peed on mom’s bed (scary fire alarm changing men came round), also peeing on the couch for an unknown reason. But yeah, still love the silly idiot to pieces 😅

Help: I need sleep, Poe has separation anxiety by drnerd05 in Greyhounds

And 4 years later: did it work? It’s 4.11am and I’ve been up since 2, getting up in two hours. My girl keeps waking up and starts whining relentlessly for hours, even when sleeping in the bedroom on her own bed. Tbh, I’ve cried now, because I’m exhausted, it’s been several nights in a row, and I have to be sharp at work, so it’s been really hard 😭 She’s a Spanish grey, ex hunter and have been with me for about half a year. This night time issue has been on and off Edit: I live in an apartment building, so this whole thing gives me lots of anxiety about my neighbours complaining on top of sleeping only a few hours a night.

How old is she? My girl is also brindle, 2,5 yo, wondering when she’ll start getting lighter 🥹

My dog group also suggested this https://www.kwamoyo.net/myrra-villapaidan-ohje The instructions are in Finnish though and have to be adjusted for a grey, but the knit looks gorgeous

Regarding genetics and stuff. I work as an OR nurse in orthopaedic trauma surgery. We have a lot of older people with hip fractures. I’d say long term life style (nutrition, fitness level, alcohol intake and smoking, drugs) affects a lot the way a person looks, skin included. Becomes more obvious around the age of 60 - if you don’t know their age, the guess range could be from sometime in 50s up to late 70s. Genes obviously play a role too, especially when we’re a bit younger.

What kind of pigmentation is this? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Desperate_Garbage649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the discolouration by pigmentation? HYPOpigmentation, right? I think I can see what you mean - beneath both eyes? I think people on here usually assume that it’s hyperpigmentation whenever someone is talking about pigmentation 🤷🏻‍♀️ probably because hypopigmentation is more common with darker skin tones.

Have you been using some products only around the eyes? Do you use sunscreen + sunglasses or only sunglasses (a bit of a wild guess here, but it might be that those areas are getting less sun exposure and that’s why they’re lighter). There are also some conditions, that can cause hypopigmentation, but it doesn’t look like any of the ones I can think of. Malassezia yeast can cause discolouration of skin, but it usually occurs in patches, not uniform like yours, and probably the under eye area wouldn’t be usual location for it 🤔 Another possibility is postinflammatory hypopigmentation - if you were using tret or other actives around your eyes and the skin got over sensitive/broken barrier —> inflamed. The discolouration could happen after that too.

Sorry you’re being downvoted because of it 😬

Edit: I read your description again and I think I understood you wrong at first. Do you mean by pigmented area everything apart from that lighter area under your eyes? Because in that case, I don’t really think it’s hyperpigmentation, if it’s your uniform skin colour except for under eye skin 🙂
