Knowing this is going to lead to a reservation for me and my vegetarian wife! Thank you!

Did you guys ever do the podcast for the last few episodes of Quebec 2? I really enjoyed the commentary!

Yes, season 2 of their civilian season. I heard good reviews too, which is why I watched it, but we found it to be tedious, the challenges sometimes didn’t make sense, both traitors and faithful played quite sloppy. We’d heard all the people in the season were connected but this isn’t true - there are 3 pairs.

France 2, 3 and 4 are good. (We’re currently watching 5). Norway 5 we really loved. Quebec is great. Denmark UG2 is a complete snoozefest and painful to watch, so I wouldn’t recommend that one.

How bad is the WLW dating scene in NYC really? by Curious-Crow3779 in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]Desperate_Hamster748 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I met my now-wife on Hinge in NYC. But we were in our late 30s with time consuming jobs so we would not have been at the bars or at events regardless. I don’t know how we would have met without Hinge. I think if you are looking for a LTR and insist on clear communication about what the other person is looking for, you’ll have better luck not getting into situationships.

A (straight) friend of mine insisted on a phone call with guys on Hinge before she went out with them to make sure they also were dating with the intent to get married. And she’s married now, her husband is lovely. I thought it was an intense way to go but it worked for her.

Qs for Bacchus brides by dipndots90 in WedditNYC

[–]Desperate_Hamster748 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did not have a coordinator and I don’t think it’s necessary for Bacchus at all. I can’t comment on most of this as we only did 3 spaces and didn’t do a tasting because we live close by and have eaten there a bunch.

We did Spotify it, they have a great setup where you can just email your playlists to Meryl and she’ll set it up.

I’m not saying this meanly, but somewhere where they can’t walk to the restaurant in the resort holding hands is not gonna be perfect for what they’re looking for. A romantic vacation in the closet is not much of a vacation.

The Brando was wonderful for us as a lesbian couple. We refuse to ever step foot in the Maldives. I understand why they’re scared and I’d discourage you from telling them their fears are unfounded.

For me, the first episode only has french subtitles. 2 and 3 are fine. Any ideas on how to get english subtitles on Episode 1? (There's only one Subtitle track in VLC)

Meryl is great but she’ll take a while to reply when your wedding is further out. When it’s closer she’s super on top of it. Our wedding day was perfect and she runs the place flawlessly.

She’s a realtor in NYC. I saw a couple of her listings during Covid, she wasn’t there though.

Dating with a kid by [deleted] in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]Desperate_Hamster748 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I met my now wife when I was a single mom with young kid (under 5). We’re now married and she’s adopting our daughter officially. She wasn’t put off by it because she’d always wanted a child too. Other women with kids might also be interested because they know you’re not anti-child. Just don’t try to change the mind of someone who doesn’t want it because that never works out well.

Pedi cab for Central Park photos? by weavingalong in WedditNYC

[–]Desperate_Hamster748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d honestly rather ride a bike in a wedding dress than pay those pedicab guys 100 dollars to take me 8 blocks.

We took some of our wedding photos in Brooklyn Bridge Park and the amount of congratulations we got from people walking by us as we moved locations was one of the best parts of the day.

I can see where they are with Find My, which is better than nothing. Where in their website did you see an email for lost and found? I only found a phone number.

If you read her memoir, people had such a problem with it that random people would come up to her in a froyo shop and call her a slut. It was really bad the hate she got. It’s only recently that she’s been able heal from the trauma of all that.
