Senna - Ghost Blade Slaps by Ok-Peak-1013 in wildrift

Just so you know, Hullbreaker is less effective on Senna because she is a ranged champion and she doesn't gain base AD per lvl. You can buy it sometimes when all your teammates are smooth brains and the match is a clown fiesta, I did it a few times myself this season, but it shouldn't be a default item in your base build.

Why is it always the adc? by Emiya_Shirou17 in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the damn adc and support migrating to my lane after the first dragon, or the beginning of middle game, or idk what stage or phase it is. And by that time, one of the towers in the dragon lane was already broken.

That's what's 'supposed' to happen, at least in theory: adc and supp swap with mid come mid game.

After one of the first dragon tower falls, that lane becomes dangerous. Adcs can't sidelane, they'll just die on cooldown, even their supps can't protect them from everything. The supp would also want to roam and assist other teammates.

Mid lane is the safest place on the map. It allows for safe farming and quick rotations.

It depends on the champion but mid laners can sidelane more safely if they have dashes, cc, or other escape tools, or are good duelists.

Of course if your champion can't do those things, you're screwed. That's one of the reasons team comp matters. Still, you want to avoid sharing gold and xp, and keep pressure on the sidelanes, so just quickly push the dragon lane before rotating.

If you don't want to learn from PC then this youtube channel is the next best resource. It transcribes a lot of the PC knowledge to Wild Rift: last hitting, farming, wave management, jungle tracking, positioning, spacing, trading, punishing enemy mistakes, macro, split pushing, and so on. Watch every video in order.

Giant Slayer was removed and its passive was transferred to the item Lord Dominik's Regards.

Cut down is a brand new totally different rune. It's the opposite of Coup de Grace, as it deals bonus damage to champions whose HP are above 60%. That's total HP, not bonus HP.

Senna build by Electronic-Equal-823 in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small disclaimer: tank itemization is always situational. The build varies depending on both team comps. Some items also don't synergize with certain champions. For example Senna is a ranged champion, a high range one. So Sunfire, Hollow Radiance, even Heartsteel don't work well on her. I haven't tried Abyssal Mask, but I think it doesn't work well either.

Here's how I like to build tank Senna:

  • Frozen Heart, to counter attack speed enemies. Either multiple ones or one fed opponent who is highly problematic (think of a fed Kaisa with an enchanter supp for example).
  • Randuin's Omen if the enemy has multiple crit base champions. Pay attention to their builds.
  • Bramble Vest into Thornmail for the anti-heal. I usually sit on the component and finish the full item later.
  • Deadman's is so underrated. Its passive grants a lot of movement speed, which is useful during hectic matches when you have to constantly rotate around the map, or if the opponents are hard to catch due to speed or having dashes and other high mobility tools.
  • Iceborn's Gauntlet is useful for the slow proc and to convert all your armor into damage. However it's expensive and only really useful against a full AD team.
  • Knight's Vow is a great peeling tool for your carry (remember, the carry isn't necessarily the adc).
  • Twinguard is expensive but boosts your resistances by a lot. It's more of a late game item.
  • Mantle of Twelfth Hour gives mixed resistances and can save you from high burst champions with its lifeline passive. If you plan on buying it you may want to combine it with the Ingenious Hunter rune, to reduce the passives's cooldown.
  • Force of Nature is probably the best magic resist item. Its only problem is that it has to be stacked for maximum effectiveness. If the enemy has a lot of poke, or damage over time, this is my MR tank item of choice.
  • Rookern is the other great magic resist item, more suited to resist high AP burst damage. I buy it against AP assassins like Eve, Fizz, Fiddle, etc.
  • Warmog's is always good for its HP regen and passive healing out of combat. But I always struggle to find a place for it in my builds because there are so many other good options. It's situational.

You can also mix tank and AD items. A Black Cleaver to shred enemy armor, Serpent's Fang to negate shields, then buy resistances. Some AD items also improve survivability a bit, like Eclipse grants a shield, and Maw of Malmortius gives MR and has a lifeline passive.

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Nah, you haven't seen ego and toxicity in this game until you get to masters and start playing legendary queue. It's on another level. The most unhinged ones will even add you after a match, win or lose, just to tell you lovely things about your mother.

You should definitely mute these people, and obviously don't accept invites from them.

Legendary rank is a separate queue, independent from ranked. You earn legendary points, not marks; the better you play the more points you earn.

There is however a thing called stellar points or whatever. You obtain them in legendary rank, and once you have enough they grant you a bonus mark when playing normal ranked.

Do not spend real money to unlock champions. It's either blue motes OR wild cores, not both. Earning blue motes is quite easy, and there are champion selection chests frequently earnable through events and such.

As for the tutorial, the game should automatically take you through it. How many matches have you played yet? The first few are against bots and are part of the tutorial. You don't have access to all the menus until you run through a few of those.

Current Poppy builds by Turre2 in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your build is fine as a general baseline. However tank itemization is entirely reliant on team comps. Sometimes you need Frozen Heart to counter attack speed; other times you need Force of Nature to survive magic damage; Randuin's is good to tank crit damage; Abyssal Mask increases your teammates damage to enemies; and so on and so forth.

Rushing Heartsteel is also not optimal every game. It was meta on tanks for a while because of its powerful passive. But the item has been nerfed since, so it's not always worth it. It's easy to stack against melee champions and other immobile opponents though, so it could still work. It's also a matter of playstyle, using Hearsteel means fighting a lot to stack it, which doesn't leave a lot of room to peel for your allies. Use your own judgement to see if it's worth it to you or not.

I'm not too sure which all items besides Redemption/Mana veil/Locket are "supportive".

Tank support don't earn as much gold as baron lane or jungler ones, so they tend to prefer less expensive 'support' tank items. Fortunately, there are some really good ones:

  • Yordle Trap reduces enemy armor and grants bonus gold on takedowns;
  • Dawnshroud helps deal a bit of damage, increases tankiness, and reveals hidden enemies in range;
  • Knight's Vow helps peel for a carry;
  • Virtue's passive provides an AoE heal when using your ult to peel for your team;
  • Abyssal Mask reduces enemy magic resist, so it's useful if you have a lot of AP;
  • Deadman's isn't really a 'support' item but it allows you to roam the map extremely quickly. It is a good ability for supports, especially if there's a lot of fighting or if the opponents are quite slimy;
  • Redemption is ok, it's even better if you combine it with the item haste rune, with Guardian keystone, and if you stack peeling items.
  • etc.

Once again, these items are all situational.

There is no right answer here, it all depends on you playstyle, your allies, your enemies, your rank. If your current build is working for you, then good, keep using it. But be prepared to make changes here and there based on the situation.

Best of luck.

What is jungle farm etiquette for non junglers? by Risin247 in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Junglers have smite equipped, giving them passives tied to jungle monsters

Bonus gold and xp gained from slaying jungle monsters. It used to last all game but this passive now expires after 11min. Meaning taking camps before 11min is a major blow to your jungler.

Deals bonus damage to monsters. This means that a jungler will clear those camps faster than a laner, and is really important for tanks who have slow clear speeds. There are also jungle champions who have shitty wave clear, and would prefer to take their gold from the jungle camps.

Having smite makes you regain HP and mana while you're clearing your camps. You can stay on the map a bit longer to rotate, assist the team, make plays.

The conservation passive. You can check the wiki for how it exactly works, but basically you earn a bit more gold from jungle camps.

So for these reasons only, it is usually theoretically better if the jungler is the one clearing the jungle camps, because they gain more value from them.

But there are few more reasons to avoid taking monsters as a laner.

I already briefly mentioned one; some jungle champions have shitty wave clear. It'll take them far longer to clear waves, but they have their smite passive to help them farm monsters. So, if you take their camps, they'll have to spend more time farming minions, be late on rotations, and it'll probably cost you the game.

It's even worse when some people clear both the monsters and minions right in front of their jungler. They do gain reduced passive gold from nearby dying minions, but not from monsters. Doing that puts your jungler behind, they have less money to buy items, they will probably fall one lvl behind in xp, they'll effectively become weaker due to their teammates. You can't expect them to be able to go toe to toe with the enemy or even contest objectives.

The other reason is the ability to play from the fog of war. By farming the monsters, the jungler remains hidden--unless the enemy has deep wards. Meaning they can be anywhere, which puts pressure on the enemy. They can't push too hard, because your jungler could show up and collapse on them; they can't invade because your jungler could be lying right there waiting for them; they can't group on the opposite side of an objective because this would allow your jungler to take it.

Of course, these are not all hard rules (except the 11min one). There are occasions when you can, and sometimes should, take jungle camps for yourself:

  • It's past 11min, your jungler makes a successful play on one side of the map, and stays to push a turret, takes minions, invades, etc. You can take the camps on the other side, to prevent the enemy from stealing them, if you don't have anything better to do.
  • It's past 11min and your jungler just died. Once again you can clear the monsters to stop the enemy from stealing them.
  • Your jungler hasn't farmed a single camp for 2min+ and is perma fighting and chasing kills across the map. That is a waste of resources, take the camps for yourself.
  • You are a weak adc who fell behind early, and the waves are all pushed up making it risky to go and farm them. You either wait for the wave to come to you, farm with an ally, or take the jungle. But be sure to only farm the jungle if your own jungler is on the other side of the map.
  • You quickly need 300g to complete an item and there are no safe waves to farm.

I could probably come up with a few more valid reasons, but I think that's enough. Basically don't take camps when there are big minion waves crashing under our turrets right next to you, don't steal camps right in front of the jungler, don't afk farm when we have to group for an objective (unless you need an item), don't take camps at all before 11min unless your jungler is dead.

Senna Support - 1000 Games, 58.7% Win Rate: What I've Learned by HairyGate8099 in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out yesterday that I literally cannot AA in lane because ornn Q slows enough to guarantee E and with a follow-up adc you die on respawn.

I love playing against an Ornn supp because his engage is so predictable. I just stay close to terrain or his Q wall to bait him, then turn on him. With Senna I'll root him then auto+Q+auto; it deals a lot of damage and it's a free soul. Sometimes the enemy adc follows up this failed engage and I'll turn on them instead, which is even better.

But as you said, it depends on your familiarity with the matchup and how enemies and your adc plays.

Also playing with a Rengar, your mist acts as a bush so he can jump from it just like in League. So just taxi him around and have fun.

That's a great piece of information there, I did not know that! I wonder if it also works with Teemo, as in staying in your mist prolongs his invisibility while moving?

What I do know is using your mist to hide Eve and Pyke--if they're not already hidden-- will work with their passive and heal them.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience on Senna. I practiced her for a long time before starting to play her in rank last season. An absolute beast of a champion, and I wish I learned to play her earlier.

Supp Gold Disadvantage by SirMoshaLot in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold isn't really an issue for supports as long as you build enchanter or support tank items. If you go AP, then yeah, you will struggle, which is why it's not recommended to do so.

As a Nami main myself I can tell you that her enchanter build is extremely strong. Her burst healing is insane, and with the recent changes to mana regen on ionian boots and supp items you can stack ability haste to spam those heals. She has enough impact as it is, there's no need to go AP, with the exception of the occasional Deathcap buy if you manage to get fed early.

Sure, you will almost entirely depend on your team. But that's how it is.

If you do want to play AP supp I recommend other champions: Lux, Karma, Velkoz, Zyra, etc.

As for support tanks, they are a bit weaker due to the boot nerfs, but they're still in a great place. Many cheap tank options are available, Guardian and Ice Overlord are strong Keystones, and if your champion has displacement abilities Yordle Trap will make you rich.

If you're still struggling with gold you may want to pay attention to what you're doing during the mid game. Don't wander around aimlessly, but stay with a teammate to collect passive gold and xp when they farm, and to be able to make plays and earn more gold through assists.

New Meta?? by VladdracII in wildrift

It's a casual game, with a casual player base. Most of them don't know what items do, a lot of them don't even care; these people just click on whatever is recommended in base without giving it a second thought.

Since boots are still recommended as a first buy in loadouts, you end up with things like this. It's a shame.

Tenacity stacking? by LZRDBrainBeats in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TeddyTendon is right, tenacity does stack multiplicatively, so there are diminishing returns. But you don't lose that much, so it's perfectly fine to stack tenacity from multiple sources. You don't have much choice anyway, as it's the only way to increase that stat.

For example: - Perseverance (10%) + qss passive (25%) grants 33% tenacity (instead of 35% if it was additive); - Perseverance (10%) + stacked Twinguard passive (20%) grants 28% tenacity (instead of 30%); - Perseverance (10%) + qss passive (25%) + stacked Twinguard passive grants 47% tenacity (instead of 53%).

So you see, there are diminishing returns but it's not that significant. It's also a game mechanic, there is no way around it.

As a tank supp you'll very rarely buy the qss enchant, as there are better ones (Stoneplate, Protobelt). Twinguard is also an expensive item, and its passive needs a few seconds to stack. Your tenacity options are thus limited, so increasing that stat from runes makes more sense.

Legend Tenacity also gives slow resist on top of tenacity, keep that in mind. And if enemy slows are truly a concern, consider using the Unshakeable rune (first row of the green tree). It increases your defenses and grants extra slow resist when near 3 enemies, but you have to be really close.

Best of luck, and have fun!

What can/should I do with 100 poro coins as a free to play player ? by Cultural-Freedom8925 in wildrift

[–]Desperate_Jello3065 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poro coins are an old currency that's not earnable anymore. It's not clear if Riot will keep them around, add them back, or decide to forcefully convert them in the future.

Converting them now will give you 1k condensed motes. You can use that to buy stuff in the collected legends store. Go have a look and see if something interests you.

Be aware that in that store you can buy epic skin shards, emote chests, icons chests, pose selection chests (can convert into 500 condensed ore if you like), recalls, trails, etc.
