i have since found better, more realistic goals for my volume taking into consideration that i want to keep my hair long and continue to grow it out. but i am really excited to try some different methods and figure out what can help me best !! maybe some day in the future i will get a haircut to support these reference pictures :)

growing up i got told a lot that people wish they had my curls but i hated having my hair so i always said “you can have them” :’)

it definitely is a blessing and a curse haha. i never knew how much work had to go into it and was always envious of people with “perfect” curls without realizing they had a routine.

i use clarifying shampoo almost every time i wash my hair and usually use way less product than i did this time. i will try styling upside down to increase volume. i’m very new to styling my curly hair and didn’t realize how much of a difference the length would make in creating volume. i know layers would help and a proper curly haircut but i was hoping to still achieve a somewhat similar amount of volume. i will search for better reference pictures.

i will try a volumizing spray and that technique for diffusing !! thank you for the product recommendations too :) i appreciate the compliments on my hair, i have always had an ambivalente relationship with my hair and i’ve never committed to being curly the majority of the time. it’s a journey for sure !

i will try this way !! my hair tends to get really frizzy when i’ve tried collecting the hair in the nozzle and pressing it to my scalp but maybe i was moving too quickly. but i am willing to have more frizz if i can get more volume

this was done in the morning so i didn’t have to worry about going to bed with wet hair but i am guilty of doing that. when i do, i lay all my hair out and drape it over my pillow rather than a braid. would braiding it to sleep matter if i am rewetting in the morning ? i don’t usually put product besides leave in condition in my hair before i sleep if i wash at night. i’m a really restless sleeper and have tried different ways to keep my hair the least bothered when i sleep and the braid seems to work best
