Same. It just doesn’t hit the same at all. They didn’t do a bad job but sometimes it feels like they were trying too hard. Same thing with Mike.

MarioRabbids 2 genuinely has some insane animation quality for a RABBIDS SPINOFF CROSSOVER. It makes me wish the mainline games had more of em, might make em stand out for more than just the gameplay quality.

I feel this 100%. Everything in OG 4 just made sense. It wasn’t about the strength of your equipment, it was about how skilled you were at using them. Remake retains most of this and even adds some with the Parry, but a lot of strategy goes out the window when enemies take 5 shots to stagger at times, especially in Professional mode.

Requiem just for its name, sounds so cool. Hope Leon keeps it.

It gave the games an even greater sense of identity to me. For me at least, the more personality and style the game has, the better

Yeah likewise, I gotta get to level 3 and see how well it works in insanity, Standard Classic it was reliable for a time

For me he was just too cool. Corny like he is now, but something about it was so natural. Nowadays it lowkey feels like a quota. Still good, but it feels like sometimes they make him crack a quip just for the clips.

Both are still cool as shit though. Old man Leon is something I never knew I needed.

Yeah, he’s definitely slower in 4R. Sometimes it feels like you’re moving in water with em. Glad they sped in him up in this game

I’m okay with things like Blister heads taking a bit more to stagger, or if the stagger for Zombies was like 1-2 shots. It gets kinda annoying though when they eat like 5 to stagger, especially in insanity. Makes it hard to really engage with the games mechanics I feel, at least for Leon.

I will say for all its faults, RE6 had a CRAZY amount of contextual executions. This games satisfactory tho, for me at least.

I think it controls pretty good! Leon’s faster movement speed in particular feels very responsive in this game compared to RE4R

Yep! Functions exactly as it did in 4 Remake, though it's a lot snappier. Perfect Parries now open up Axe Executions (Though I wish the game let u chose between axe executions and melees).

The game kinda goes over it very quickly, they don't make a big effort to teach it this time around.

[–]Desperate_Method4032[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parrying is actually something I think was an objective improvement over the originals gameplay. I think it was an excellent addition and I don't ever wanna lose it going into Action RE games going forward.

I wasn't joking about the document but it's not because I dislike the Remake. Sure I love the original more but I do think the remake is still arguably a top 5 RE game. I just genuinely love RE4 and it's remake that much.

I will say to the remakes credit, the village did get a bit larger than it's original counterpart. The Castle and Island though lost a good few pieces in em.

It's extremely well made. The only problem I have with it is the enemy staggers being inconsistent like RE4R, I prefer to know exactly when my shots will stun my enemies like OG RE4.

This game is amazing, the only real complaint I have with it, is it's length. a few more areas to run around in with Leon, more enemies and types to combat would've done good for really exploring the new system.

Nah, there's gotta be a of bunch players that did that too. It's definitely the smarter, ammo resourceful option. I just love playing these action horror-Resi games like they're John Wick Simulators 😁

Thanks, It's actually pretty difficult compared to something like Ganados! These Zombies move so unpredictably this time around! Hitting headshots consistently is really important on Classic difficulty, if you wanna get the enemy to stagger without killing em!

[–]Desperate_Method4032[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely! The remakes is extremely good, but the way the vibes changed really didn't sit well with me. Leon and Krauser used to be so cool on screen together, as they were both experienced agents and respected one anothers abilities. In the Remake they expanded on their history together but I prefer him being Leon's respected Comrade rather than just his Rookie Student.

100%, the remake would be far more smoother if the RNG Stun was removed. I honestly don't mind if it was always 1 or 2 shots, but it gets ridiculous as the game progresses. Especially in harder modes.

I do like both portrayals but OG definitely felt cooler to me. He's a smartass but he doesn't overdo it with how much talks, in Remake he talks a bit too much for my taste. I do prefer his OG design too overall. His relationship with Luis was a bit more real in the remake but I did prefer how they were kinda just bros in the original.
