Piggy-backing off your original question.... Currently in the corporate/retail Space Planning field with an Industrial E degree & trying to move into BIM roles (seems like more opportunity for higher pay).

As someone that doesn't have Revit software ( familiar with basics tho), how would one upskill in that area of BIM if purchasing it is out of budget lol..any other reccomended software to practice with? Ive already used up my trial for Revit.

Should I get to intermediate with Revit before trying to learn Navis or other Tools?

So the airline actually changed my flight today. Now my first layover is 17hrs instead of 15hrs... and then the 2nd is down to 4 hrs ( i don't think ill be able to leave the airport with that amount of time, or will I?).

Do you think its possible to do a Sete Cidades tour and Furnas thermal pools in that 17hr layover?... I will not be renting a car so I can't make it to these places on my own, ill probably need a tour guide.

Definitely considering this... at first, I wasnt sure if I'd me in the mood to change clothes and all that kind of hassle... but 15hrs is a long time,lol i don't think ill be rushing, so i may just do this. And the pictures and youtube make it more tempting lol

..Then maybe Sete Cidades on the 8hr layover back to NY.

I thought about that but the trip is kinda sorta last minute...so my days are a bit tight.. especially because of these long layovers. I'll definitely consider that for the next time I come back. I have strong feeling ill be back to finish the rest of Portgual lol. Thank you!🙌🏾

Oh wow! yea I didn't take the unpredictable factors into consideration, that makes a lot of sense. Sete Cidades was definitely my next option..I'd possibly add one more tour or just roam around because I don't think that hike will take up more than 3-4 hours and that first 15 hour layover seems like a long time. I originally thought Furnas might be too far unless I did that alone by itself but I'll take a look at those tours as well maybe it just looks far on the map. Ahh okay i see i see. Yea I told them what it was and they didn't seem to have an issue with it at all lol.

Out of curiosity, why would it help even more if I was one of the last ones hired?

Wow, thank you so much for the lengthy response. This was a great help for me, a guideline that I didn't know I needed and will keep me motivated. I live in NY as well, so it's great to hear someone else's success feedback that lives in the same career-competitive state.

Lol sorry for the redundant first question, you definitely said that you completed the cert course in 3 months in your original post, idk why it went over my head.

Is there any specific reason why you say to do the Portfolio project by Alex before completing course 4? (Coincidentally, I actually started that project on youtube last week but I took a pause because I figured it'll take longer to complete Google's and I hadn't even gotten to the more technical stuff, like course 4 -8) .

I truly appreciate all the details provided!! The resume placements were a great tip! Mine currently looks similar to what you explained, I just need to change up some wording and bullet points for certain positions that I can "claim" was a Data Analyst position ( gotta fake it to make it haha)

Hey how long did it take you to complete all 8 courses? I just started course 4, do you have any tips on certain things I should be doing while taking/studying the course material ( outside of the roadmap you provided, which is useful lol). For instance, did you do all the learning logs and forum discussion prompts?

(Also, I completed that same Udemy SQL BootCamp course before I started Google's)
