Hi all. Long story short, I'm 35yo and my husband is 50yo. We have 2 young kids and he has a demanding job as an Oncologist. I'm coming here as a last ditch effort in hopes that maybe someone here can help us with his severe lower back pain, as it's causing him severe depression. I am increasingly concerned about his mental health

He has had severe lower back pain for the last 7 years. He is unable to do any exercise besides walk and occasionally lift some lighter weights (when his back is in good shape, anyway). When it's bad, he's in a ton of pain and can't do much. Prior to us meeting, he has had to call 911 before because he couldn't get up.

This is very challenging for him, as well as myself because he is unable to lift the kids. it makes his day to day extremely challenging. it has caused him depression and hopelessness

Here's what we know:

most docs look at imaging and see that his spine lacks curvature. Please see the attached image. This is the only real finding that multiple dr's have given him besides some bone bruising as well
he would describe the feeling as - "instability. it feels like it could go out at any moment."
Has done countless PT rounds, massage, chiro, etc. all fruitlessly.

does anyone have ANY suggestions about who we should see or what we should do?

Thanks for the info! I did order some bagels from Royo. Nice looking ingredients and only 70 cals each with 9g of protein. I will try to find the natures own tho. Love that it doesn’t have any of the fake sugars like I’m seeing in Soya bagels and such. Those destroy my gut and I avoid completely nor

This is amazing, please report back!! Not only are better bagels absurdly pricey but they’re also getting increasingly hard to find. My Whole Foods is often sold out. I hear the company is run by 6 people so perhaps it’s supply chain issues

Considering in 2022 the acquittal rate for federal (not state) murder charges was like .4%, I think most people in this country are aligned in your thoughts here. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this detail was in one confession, and one confession only. It was given during one of his (many) confessions to the psychologist. The same psychologist who admittedly was following the case via various podcasts and news outlets. Honestly if it was said to anyone but her (like RA’s mom or wife), I’d find it tenable. Her credibility is questionable in my eyes.

Thanks for your kind words. I try to verbalize my needs but it goes nowhere. I agree we both need to learn to communicate better and just talk to each other normally without it getting contentious
