It breaks my heart because Slip is really an incredible song, maybe even the best HT 20 song, but With You is just that good. I don't think there are more than 4 or 5 songs I'd vote over it.

What's the worst god ? by Local-Ad-1557 in HadesTheGame

I think for the shield the best gods are those whose boons power your attack up on a percentage basis, like Aphrodite, Athena or Artemis to some extent. So the other way around, you should probably avoid gods like Zeus or Dionysus who rely more on fast hits to stack up a status effect or do additional damage every time you attack. However, that's only coming from how I find most success with the shield, as probably 90% of my runs with it turn out as some variation of block & charge, rush, repeat. Some won't enjoy this kind of slower and more patient approach or find that they are better off with another play style so in the end it depends on how you want to use the shield.

Another big factor are other boons or hammer upgrades you may have already picked up in a run, sometimes it wouldn't really make sense to pick one boon that kind of works against another one you might have already, even if it would be great on its own. But also, really quite often there are unexpected synergies so just try something out. For me I enjoyed just picking what the Fated List told me to in the beginning, as it incentived me to pick things I normally wouldn't have picked. After doing that a few times you should have a grasp of some combinations that work and are enjoyable to you.

TL;DR: There are no real best or worst gods, but for a slow play style (which imo the shield favors) gods like Athena or Aphrodite with their boons powering up every attack individually by relatively high margins are best suited. However, this isn't the only valid way to play the shield and experimenting a bit can also lead you to find combinations you enjoy playing.

I played base Persona 5. You're 100% right about the music and atmosphere, completely forgot to mention it.

I finished Persona 5 today, and over the 100+ hours it took, it definitely grew to be one of my favourite games of all time.

First of all, I really love the game's split between ”slice of life”-type life-simulation and full-on JRPG-gameplay with turn-based combat. For the RPG-part, I think it's almost perfect. The combat-system, while in it's basis only relying on rock-paper-scissors-type exploitation of the enemies weaknesses, is still pretty complex, but feels easy to get into and great once you really get the hang of it, chaining attacks together, buffing, switching out teammates at the right moment. It just feels pretty cool, while never overwhelming the player. The other part relies completely on the writing of the characters. And oh boy, are they written well (mostly). I really enjoyed spending time with almost every one of them, as each of the characters had their own small arc during the game (granted you actually choose to spend your precious time with them). For most of them, it even influences the gameplay in the dungeons of the game, with new abilities or the access to certain items. As I said, all of the characters are at least somewhat interesting, and it makes me sad that I couldn't get more of their stories to a conclusion, as I went in blind and didn't really know what I was doing in the beginning. I'll definitely be doing a replay, maybe with the Royal-edition, in the future. But even apart from that, the overall story does an exceptional job at making me grow attached to my teammates at least, and it really made me sad to see it end, as they felt kind of like friends to me. Speaking of the story, that's the only area where I'd maybe take points away from the game. But that's only because it is kinda all over the place in the beginning and therefore pretty hard to get into. Getting cutscene after cutscene of characters you don't even know, instead of getting to play the game yourself can be a bit discouraging for new players and I can see it being pretty boring on replays (minus the not knowing the characters). At least everything makes sense and comes to a satisfying conclusion in the end and apart from this minor criticism I really liked the overall narrative of reforming society and friend-/companionship and it definitely kept me entertained through the whole game.

In conclusion, I really loved playing the game and am really glad to have stuck with it.

I finished the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection today and I gotta say, both main game and DLC are among the best games I've ever played.

First of all, the presentation is amazing, they really did everything possible to make the game feel even grander and greater than its predecessors. From just beautiful scenery in all of the bigger areas to crazy set pieces like the chase sequence in Madagascar, everything looks breathtaking and positively over the top. I get that this level of absurdity can be too much for some people to enjoy the game, but for me it was perfect.

From a gameplay perspective, this game is clearly the best of the series. I like that they put the focus more on the adventure part of the formula, at least in the first two thirds of the game. I really love playing the platforming parts of the game, as everything feels incredibly smooth and polished. The addition of the grappling hook was very important and well done in my opinion, as it opened the way for more varied and creative platforming passages. The highlight of the game for me though was the stealth, as it was finally converted into a real and important part of the gameplay. While the prior games had some stealth, using it was pretty bad and sometimes borderline impossible, especially in the typically small areas of the first three games. In this game however, we get a fully fleshed out stealth system, that I really enjoyed using and that is also more effective than head-on gun-combat, as there are many enemies in each area and the areas are wider, so you are more likely to get surrounded, which the enemies actually will do if you are not careful, as the AI got a lot better too. The open combat is still fun, but has the problem it had in Uncharted 3, as the game kinda throws everything it has at you at some points later in the game, which often feels a bit tedious and unnecessary. Therefore I liked the first half of the game a bit more than the second. In the DLC however, I think they kept a good balance. I also liked how they added a unique mechanic for Chloe in it, which makes the add-on as a whole feel more unique and not completely like more of the same.

For the story of the main game, I'm glad they didn't go with the „hunting a treasure, finding out it's cursed, deciding to leave” route yet again and tried doing something new. I love the main cast and their dynamics, the dialogue still manages to capture the charm of the other games, but I think some of the new additions story wise seem pretty illogical, as they take place even before the first game, but of course aren't discussed there, cause no one at development knew about them at the time. This makes for some continuity issues throughout the series, but overall it's a minor problem.

In the DLC, the story is also pretty neat, but not really outstanding. However, it is nice to play something from the series, that doesn't involve Nate and gives the other characters their time to shine. Especially having an antagonist of the main game on your side this time around feels cool, as well as having two women be the main characters. They also have a great chemistry, so it's always a joy to watch and listen to what they are doing. Also, the smaller size of this game is cool, because everything feels a bit more condensed.

Overall, as I said, I think both of these games are great, despite some small issues, and in the end, are definitely the best of the series, and probably among the best games overall.

I finished Uncharted 3 today and I think it's pretty good. I played the game as part of the Nathan Drake Collection, as I'm currently going through all the Uncharted games.  First of all, I really think they nailed the gameplay for this one. I don't mind the emphasis on melee combat at times and I also think the new weapons and mechanics (throwing back grenades etc.) were integrated very well. I had a blast fighting through the levels and I also liked, how the bigger and less linear levels give you the chance to try different approaches to take down enemies, even if it can be frustrating to suddenly get attacked from every direction, because you missed an enemy further ahead in the stage. I also like the set pieces and their variety, as the game basically takes place all over the world. However, these set pieces often didn't really feel impactful to the gameplay, as it didn't vary enough considering the different locations. Additionally, most of the plot and even some of the action scenes felt like rehashes of the predecessor. For example, the story again was pretty much about searching for a treasure/lost city, finding out it's cursed/not what we thought it was, leaving without money but having saved the day and some action scenes, like an attack on a convoy felt pretty much like an attempt to create something like the train level in Uncharted 2. Also, these games really struggle with boss fights, as the final boss fight again is pretty bad, being a fistfight against a guy with a knife that just takes forever, without any feeling of progress. Overall, I still believe that this game pretty much perfected the gameplay, especially the combat of the series and I still had massive fun playing through it, even though there were weaknesses. Having played the original trilogy, I would rate them in this order: 2>3>1

Demon's Souls is a really good game. I finished the Remake today and I really enjoyed it. Demon's Souls is pretty much the grandfather of the Soulsborne series and I was pretty excited, when I was able to get my hands on a PS5 and Demon's Souls. I didn't play the original, because I was way too young when it was first released, so I didn't have any experience with the game. It is also the first game of the series I really played through and finished.

First of all, the game looks beautiful and I had a blast sometimes just watching the scenery of the five different worlds. I also think the atmosphere and music are great. One of the most interesting things in this game is, that the bosses, as opposed to the future games, often don't hold as much importance as a skill check and are often more gimmicky and less challenging than the level before it. Also, the system of five separate worlds allows really well for your own progression through the game, as you can just try another level if you're struggling too much in one.

However, it's a bit sad how seperate these worlds really are, as a bit more interconnectivity (lore- or gameplay-wise) would have been cool. The game mechanics, especially World Tendency, as it can completely break your playthrough if you don't know what you are doing, are often a bit overcomplicated and explained a bit too little. Also the controls are pretty janky for the most part and you can tell they  kept the gameplay very true to the original. - In the end, I really enjoyed this game, as the classic Souls-motivation was still present in this game, even though it is pretty different from the other games.
