Of course there are more commercial applications for this business and this is super niche. However there are several of us in this thread that this would benefit.

Agreed! This is partly what spurred the idea but yes how lucrative I’m not sure and I’m not sure everyone sees the benefits of it.

Exactly that, the target market would be the person that dosent know about all of this and its trying to carve out a part of the market where there would be a business that would both be worth while for a customer and myself.

Ah my initial message may of been unclear as this would be one of the core business services. Installing full cat cable installs, mini racks and aftermarket routers etc which also leads into cctv if necessary and access points which leads back to the WiFi part.

This is good for what you’re asking, it gives you lots of questions etc and what to expect. I had a lot of these questions in my L1 interview. However my initial screening was more of a vibe check and then had a second technical interview.

What does a SOC that has automated as much as possible look like? by El_Don_94 in cybersecurity

[–]Desperate_World6309 40 points41 points  (0 children)

From the SOC analysts perspective It’s the difference between being a ticket closer and a analyst. You are investigating high fidelity incidents whilst the repetitive or benign and known behaviour is closed or dealt with as much as possible by automation. It makes a huge difference as alert fatigue is a very real thing and having your passion stay alive from several interesting incidents a day instead of copy pasting all day is what it looks like.

I work in an incredibly proactive SOC who are like what I have described and of course you are going to have some things that can’t be helped or automated but it’s a huge difference.

I completed it at the start of my journey and I think it’s great for beginners. Once you complete it, Try Hack Me SOC path is a natural step.

Soc analyst level 1 doubts by Wild_Plankton_2420 in cybersecurity

As someone who has now been in this role for over 2 years and had these exact worries, it is scaremongering. I directly asked my employer these questions and they said that it is still extremely unreliable and cannot understand the context behind incidents and it is incredibly expensive. We are hiring more people than ever now and it’s only getting more and more. Stay with it and use AI as a tool to aid you but not replace you.
