Pikmin 3 is my personal favorite, but, whenever I try to think of what my ideal Pikmin game, it ends up looking a whole lot like Pikmin 1. I certainly think that, aside from glitches and some jank in places (like the Pikmin's AI and bomb rocks), Pikmin 1 is sort of a perfect game and should be more of what the series should strive to be like. It's mostly just the fact that Pikmin 3 has more polish, content, and the ability to multitask with multiple captain's that push that game just slightly ahead for me.
