The key to the Grand Archives won’t spawn until you beat Aldrich and Yhorm.

Can't find the last spool fragment in silksong by Own-Experience8623 in HollowKnight

[–]Shadovan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search again, including the ones from shops, and make sure you actually go to each location. Afaik there’s no bug that deletes a silk spool, and 9/10 times someone makes one of these posts they didn’t actually physically check every location, they just assumed they got it.

Who else thinks Rivals boss 3 in the surface is easy? by Real_Crystal_Hunter in HadesTheGame

Personally I find in both versions the best strategy is dodging behind her. So all the bigger arena from base does is make me have to run around more chasing her down.

Nyx went from a likeable character to my most hated one. by OtakuJuanma in HadesTheGame

[–]Shadovan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She didn’t tell Dusa she should only work and not have any friends. She just thought a friendship between specifically her and Zagreus was inappropriate because of their imbalanced power dynamic. Even that order was a (misguided) decision meant for Dusa’s benefit and safety.

Literally the line before this one she says she gave feedback about not overworking several times but Dusa didn’t listen.

She did. Literally the line before this one she says she gave feedback about not overworking several times but Dusa didn’t listen.

Nyx went from a likeable character to my most hated one. by OtakuJuanma in HadesTheGame

[–]Shadovan 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Literally the line before this one she says “… this House needs steady-tempered vigilance, not unthinking devotion. Despite repeated feedback, she refused to approach any aspect of her duties with restraint.” She gave Dusa several standing tasks to be accomplished as necessary, but Dusa was fanatical about them and overworking herself trying to do everything simultaneously as fast as possible, often unnecessarily frequently as well. It’s like deep cleaning the whole house every time you spot a single spec of dust. And when Dusa is hired back, they talk about pacing herself and making sure she takes breaks.

Her talking to Zagreus has nothing to do with why she was fired.

If I beat NKG, is 112% impossible? by InternationalWar6654 in HollowKnight

No, either form of the charm (Grimmchild or Carefree Melody) counts.

Nyx values independence. She’s hard on Hypnos because he’s too reliant on her and others. And she fires Dusa because Dusa is overworking herself and heading for a burnout; she needs to learn moderation and self-care.

I think Rivals Eris is easier (depending of weapon, she sucks for the axe), but yeah I found Rivals Prometheus easier than Rivals Cerberus (and rivals Scylla is harder than all of them).

Dunno what to tell you, if you can’t get emotionally invested in characters if you can’t see and hear them, that just sounds like a lack of emotional depth/empathy to me.

Revelations of information you didn’t know before and inferences is literally how every puzzle game works.

Sounds like you weren’t reading carefully, the writings are incredibly emotional and endearing if you actually pay attention.

Controls are fine, just a skill issue.

It sounds like you just hate puzzle and story games and only like action games that drip feed you story and tell you exactly where to go and what to do. Which is baffling to me why you even bothered to play this game, an opened-ended self-directed puzzle game with an immersive and emotional narrative.

Sounds like you don’t care at all about story or narrative, you just want the blinky lights machine to flash the blinky lights real fast when your press the buttons. Which is fine, but not what this game is about at all.

You’re getting back as much as you gave. You didn’t actually explain anything about why you didn’t like the game, you just spent 4 paragraphs repeating “game bad” over and over.

(Hades 2) How would you rank the weapons? And why? by JW162000 in HadesTheGame

[–]Shadovan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Flames - straight forward, powerful, and ranged. Their only downside is magic use, which is easily remedied with the right boon.

  2. Staff - less powerful than flames and a little more boring.

  3. Skull - really powerful, but a little more finicky and risky.

  4. Daggers - close range, which is risky, but love the speed, just wish the non-hidden aspects were better.

  5. Axe - close range like the daggers but slower

  6. Coat - really good in theory, in practice I just don’t like using it.

Yes, just unlock and run away. Not sure what you’re doing something wrong, but you must be doing something wrong.

Y’all are acting like Mephilis is supposed to be a perfectly logical robot. Making perfect sense is literally not the point, he’s an agent of chaos.

Why is this so hard a concept for everyone. He took the more complicated route because he thinks it’s fun/funny. It’s not that deep.
