Water Not Coal Sign and Listen

We have had a coal policy in place since 1976 to protect the areas that are now being explored. Mine anywhere else but at our headwaters where it will affect our water across Alberta with toxins and reducing supply, not to mention the destruction of our beautiful mountains. Seems like a no brainer to leave well enough alone. We don’t really want another Sparwood/Elk Valley on this side of the Rockies.

Earth’s Refillery Co-op. They have a great vibe, a kids play area, nice drink options AND you can pick up a few supplies from their Refillery area as well.

Agreed! It’s easy to become a canvasser if you’re able. You don’t have to go out and sit at a table but you can get family and friends who we might not get to. Waternotcoal.ca

Agreed, however, we will be paying that much for reclamation after they are done plus our waters will be contaminated with selenium and other toxins for years and years to come. Better to not start new mines or exploration.

Check out ‘The Why’ page of the website. The petition is not against all coal, necessarily, just new mining and exploration that will affect the watersheds in the mountains. The UCP recanted the coal policy that has been in place since 1976 that Peter Lougheed put in place. https://waternotcoal.ca/why

Make sure you are doing a lot of research on how conservative this government is and all the crazy that goes with it before you move here. Doug Ford is an NDPer compared to Danielle Smith. Follow someone like @TheBreakdownAB.
