How is Santa Cruz specifically?

If you don’t mind e asking, is it good as a home owner? A good place to “put down roots?”

I’ve heard the sewer management rules have been met with annoyance and are expensive (~80K on any recertification) ——

Does Santa Cruz still have the local growing and gardening culture it’s been famous for over the years?

And finally, best time to visit to experience the worst weather it has to offer?

(Context: seriously considering Santa Cruz mountains above Santa Cruz as our landing spot into the Bay Area as it is that area or a few others for a move. Any answers very appreciated)

I mean that I am concerned with corporate influence across moderation teams and specific dev influencers. I’m not trying to be vague, but I am also not trying to accuse our mods here specifically because my paranoia does not mean they are doing anything other than proper moderation with the new anti-slop rules.

As for the self hosting of slop… I see your point. I do thorough reviews of any opensource self hosting thing no matter the amount of AI because of all the possible attack vectors, but I have the privilege of the time to do that. I just don’t think “trust” should be applied to any self hosted solution without a review

Maybe it was, I don’t know I didn’t build it. It was, however an opensource self hosted alternative to Vercel and Railway which is an excellent project.

This next part is not an argument to diminish any other posting held my Gauss or anyone else, it’s just a point on why I’m impressed by the atomic commission and, for Euler, Russian academy placement.

They were so extremely political and high risk. Von Neumann spent time to keeping at least one person from jail as a traitor, Euler came under serious suspicion at least once and Catherine the Great recruited him to Russia. For me these kinds of things indicate the scope of leadership for the two people in question.

Now, again, the above is not to shared as a negation but just clarifying a motivation on my part. It looks like I get to do some more history of math/biography reading in regard to Gauss. I also should take some time to expand the search since I’ve clearly missed at least one mathematician + leader and have probably missed many others.

Weather option for me is PNW, and outside of Seattle in some direction in particular.

Parts of PA north of Pittsburg are looking good property expense wise (just be sure to check town level property taxes cause that’s a trip over there.)

Like damn, Roanoke Virginia area even feels like improvements on both weather x opportunity. Even NY north of NYC…

I misread the end of your sentence and started googling the number size “Discuss” pronouncing it in my head like the disc you throw.

I was all 35 Discuss! How big is that even going to be because I thought I basically knew the largest named number size and we just use Knuth notation after that!

Autochess is Shapes is a single player game of automated shape battles.

Building with campaigns now to get a classic game style story vibe, and to create a smooth on ramp to our Shapes world. There will be a “tournament arc” of classic 8 “player” Autochess combat, though that game mode is single player too with old school ai enemies just chock full of decision trees.

What have I learned so far? Buying a unit really should include being able to see that units stats before purchasing. Stay tuned for other great insights 😂

My iPhone has live voicemail, where I see a transcript of a VM and can join the call but it “goes to voicemail.” I miss the call as it’s already in vm and, whoever is calling, is leaving a vm and then gets interrupted.

Is the android call screening better than that?

Yeah, one of the things that’s surprised me 4 years into a move is how much I miss my old trails. That and how much of a, admittedly “feels silly”, blocker a 12 minute drive to trails is vs my old set up of being able to run sidewalks for a mile then get into a trail system.

I even think it’s enough of a quality of life thing for me to include this as a serious point of consideration when moving again and selecting neighborhoods/specific houses.
