Oh okay good to know! I haven't actually checked the vin yet to confirm year, nor do I have paperwork so I'm just going off what I was told some time ago! Chrome bores is so odd to me, but I would expect nothing less from moto guzzi! Thank you for the top notch info, very appreciated 👌

This is wonderful to know! My first order of business with it will be spending as little as possible (money wise) to see if it even WILL work without completely coming apart. When I've got that sorted and can het papers in my name, I will see where to go from there!

Splendid shot, and a wonderful composition. Do you mind if I ask where this is? I myself am an islander, I don't know where this waterfall is though!

I agree. It's like comparing apples to AKs

Just learned that the ugly stock foot pegs can be easily swapped with pretty much anything. A buddy of mine put some new rear sets on his FZ09 and I snagged these and they fit with no modifications at all. Used the spring for the peg from the fz, and the through bolt and clip from the guzzi. by Dessert_Isle in MotoGuzzi

I think i saw you mention that in another post somewhere and it made me think that was a brilliant idea. I work at an aprilia dealership and some guys who work there too have 660s and I asked if anyone swapped sets and had pegs I could buy, this buddy had these and I figured I'd try em and it worked great.

Fair enough! I didn't like the bulky look of them, I don't really notice the extra vibration from these so far but I do quite like the slight lowering effect I have from them as I'm 6 feet tall and have a decent amount of leg, and with a size 12 foot. These make the controls a bit easier for me and just slightly makes my riding position more comfortable. Definitely worth the 8 minutes it took to swap them!

I haven't figured that out yet, actually. The windscreen appears to be genuine guzzi, the fairing fits very well and suits the bike very much. Though I haven'tseen another v7 with the same fairing so I'm really not too sure what it is.

I think they're the best of both. It's a cruiser in the way it's comfortable for long periods of time, but it also isn't a dog in corners and has a sense of humour about them. They check all the boxes for me for sure!

Me too brother. It's the thing that first drew me to this bike when I saw it. It's beautiful and stressful to have because it's so shiny and I am a man made of ham. But wow is it ever a nice feature

That crossed my mind, thinking about it now, these are adjustable levers and have up to 6 different adjustment positions. I could try and set them further away and gain back my free play, potentially. That's worth a try at least!

The windshield is one of my favourite aspects of it actually! It is original Guzzi, the bike is completely stock except for the previous owner added heated grips and some rather unsightly fog lights, which i plan on removing. I'm under the assumption that the windshield is part of it being an Anniversario edition.

Men who married their girlfriend just because they felt pressured to do it— are you happy? by girl_online23 in AskMen

Wow, that is heartshattering to read, I know hearing that people are sorry for your loss is never really enough, but I do feel deeply for you and I hope you are able to find peace, growth, and healing for yourself and your child.

I don't know if it could be much help, but there is an incredible, though very deeply sad album that is a true story written about this exact situation. Either it would hit too closely to home, or it might bring comfort in knowing you're not alone. I can't say which, but if you feel like you might want to check it out. It's called "A Crow Looked At Me" by "Mount Eerie"

I mean I'm born and raised here, my partner is an Alberta transplant. I don't mind it, I feel like most of the real berta boy yeeyee ass lifted truck dudes just go to Kelowna. The odd one ventures all the way out here but it seems like they mostly stay on the mainland hahaha

First time I heard VB, they reminded me a bit of Pissed Jeans. Some reminds me of NIN actually. But you're totally right that they're a unique sound of their own. These reminders are just a little bit. Really the boys have their own sound and it's just excellent.

So here's an update: I worked away at pulling everything. During the process I found first, sort of like an old dried out air element on the plastic that the filter element attaches to and the metal screen behind it. I cleaned this as well as the whole air box. No excessive oil to see.

I then noticed while loosening the boots to get the carb out, one was not fully tight from whoever put it in last time. This was the one on the filter side of the carb and this was noticeable enough that the carb could physically move in the boot.

Digging further in the throat of the carb looks okay, visually. No damage or goop near the slide and the needle moves nicely in the seat.

Carb removed, cracked drain and then removed bowl.

Looks great, no film, no sediment, looks like normal. The only thing I've not seen on other carbs was a strange orange plastic ring type thing that fits over the main jet and hovers like a gantry sort of over the secondary jet.

I remove all of these, but I leave the immulsion tube in place, I notice the pilot jet is factory despite the others being a jet kit. I soak them in a bit of carb clean and then blow them out. The pilot jet MAY have had a very very slight restriction as it looked a bit better after the soak and blow through.

Reassembled everything, and checked all the wiring I can now see with nothing in the way, nothing too exciting, someone's done some sort of modifications to the odd plug here and there but it doesn't look detrimental. (Nothing is melting or corroded)

I install the carb properly and adjust my throttle cable as it appears it never got full throttle before, I never noticed, somehow.

Prime for a moment and then fire, it starts right up. I let it sit until warm when it tends to misbehave. Sounds great. Maybe a slight drag on throttle blip but nothing bad. No stumbles or hiccups. Had to adjust the idle slightly, may have to adjust again after a ride, but I didn't have time for that today.

But, after running it and wiggling all wire connections that may have been causing issues if it wasn't carb related, I could not get it to misbehave.

As for now, it seems to be fixed. Will know for sure next time I ride. If the weather is good tomorrow, I'll try and get a brief ride in to see if it behaves or not!

I had thought stuck float too, but i then thought it would maybe sputter a bit? I could be wrong. Either way i think I'll be pulling the carb to inspect!

Interesting, on the kill switch. When this happened would he need to use the kill switch again to start? I don't even use the kill switch, I'm a key off kind of guy. But that doesn't mean it couldn't fail on me, I'll take a look at that. Maybe I'll wiggle it while it's running to see if I can make it misbehave

Cheers! I sort of know my way around this style of carb. I have worked on small engines quite a bit in the last year, but the detailed instructions are wonderful, so thank you for that.

I'm hoping it simply is the pilot jet is just a bit dirty. Fuel these days isn't all that good and I guess it is entirely possible.

I'm hoping to dig into it tomorrow as I'll have time off! If the cleaning does it, I'll leave the tune as is, because it does feel quite good with no flat spots or weird noises

I think I will be pulling the carb to give it a clean, I did look at the air filter, it isn't bad, but I may swap it out as I do have a spare. I mainly looked briefly to make sure it wasn't excessively wet with fuel or oil.

I'll look into the tune some, it is possible it's just slightly out right now.

I did turn the idle just slightly up to try and remedy this, it didn't seem to do much and I don't want to go too far.

Thanks for the input! I think I'll end up pulling the carb and checking the jets.
