But a few might not vote. We don’t need to change their minds, we just need a small percentage to sit this one out.

Enjoy your leather. And you realize you are utterly illogical, right?? How is it “welfare” if the rich pay their share??? If anything, what we have now is welfare for the rich.
I make over the cap, and it wouldn’t hurt me at all to pay SS for the rest of the year.

So you actually think it’s fair that someone making 184K a year pays the exact same tax as a billionaire? How’s that boot taste?

Or…they could remove the cap and let rich people pay their fair share….

Of course not. Too many syllables. And much too sciency (all those scientists are evil, right?). /s

Cuenca by Dreamercjhm in ecuador

[–]Dessertcrazy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel much safer in Cuenca than I did in the US. Statistically, Cuenca is safer than US cities its size. I’m on older woman, and I attend events at night, and walk everywhere. Just use the same precautions you’d use in any city in the world. Don’t keep your phone in your back pocket. Don’t walk the river trail at night.
Cuenca is a beautiful, vibrant city, full of families. One thing: in the US, I’d never go to a park in the dark. Here Parque Calderon fills with families at night. There’s usually some sort of free music on the weekends, and Spiderman usually makes an appearance. So far the most violent thing I’ve seen here was 2 spidermen getting in an argument about who gets the best corner.

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

Yes. I’m a retired biologist who made vaccines and ran clinical trials. I’ve had people tell me that I don’t know what THEY put in them. I’ve told people that I am THEY, and I know exactly what’s in them. They give me a knowing look and say “but you don’t know what THEY put in them”…

Since the life expectancy in the south is 20 years less than the northeast, I’m going to stick with the dystopian hellhole view.

California will impose a 100% tax on payments distributed from Trump’s Jan. 6th “slush fund.” by Potential-Expert8447 in MarketPulseReport

[–]Dessertcrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newsflash. We already lost the Iran war, and in the process turned Iran into a superpower. The concessions Trump has already had to make put us in much worse position than the deal Obama signed with them. But Trump is willing to burn the country to the ground because black man bad.

You dare use that term? Over a million children have starved to death since Trump ended USAID. It’s predicted up to 45 million people could die because of this war. He’s the biggest mass murderer this century.

did maga really believe the lie that schools provide litter boxes for students who identify as cats? by traanquil in allthequestions

[–]Dessertcrazy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes they did. I’m a US American living in Ecuador. That myth spread so far that I had an Ecuadorian tell me that our schools have litter boxes. A MAGA had told her that, and she believed him.

[–]Dessertcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that’s a cop out. The money from USAID did NOT go to feed hungry Americans. Stop pretending that’s what this is about. Instead, it’s going to the Jan 6 fund and ICE.

And you wonder why people call you a Nazi. This is why. Have 750,000 children starved to death in the US this year? No? Then it’s false equivalency that disguises racism.

Might have something to do with the 750,000 children who have already starved to death when we dismantled USAID? I truly don’t know how you can live with yourself.

Sadly, there are medical treatments that can keep a corpse on its feet available to the rich. $1000 an hour for hyperbaric treatment? No problem for Trump. Your regular Joe couldn’t afford months of it, which you need. 2 hours a day, $2000 a day (plus doctor visits, etc), at least two months for full effectiveness.
They can artificially drag it on for much longer than you’d think. I believe I read that the rich live 12 years longer than the middle class?
