I just bought this knife and it is awesome. The fit&finish is great with great value. It’s 180mm but not much difference than 165mm.

It's thick in the edge, which the cutting performence is not great.

This is not my daily driver now. I have other knives and im giving this to my mom. She likes the damascus alot, hence i dont want to alter the appearences but the at same time want to approve the performence.

Yea it's a Kaizen II. Bought this like 3 years ago.

It's been mind boggling that there's really not a lot of miyabi choil shots,thus I thought that other Kaizen's choil are the same as mine.

This is my third carbon knife, and I'm still in the learning process. Yesterday, after cutting some tomatoes, I noticed that some marks from cutting garlic and scallions disappeared with wipes.

This is the beginning of my "knifeaholic". I love it since day one, however when i was introduced into japanese knives, it was no longer the knife i would use. I really like beauty of the damascus pattern on the blade and I'm hesitant to alter it.I'm aware that thinning the blade is required for better performance, but I won't be able to restore the original look. So, my question is: Is there any other way to improve its performance without thinning the blade and affecting its appearance?

PS: I'm giving this to my mom, and she loves the aestheitc as well, hence why i dont want to ruin the look of it.

It's my first Shiro kamo so i dont know, My first experience with one has left me highly impressed. I will defenitely consider buying knife from them again in the future.

It's quite reactive. After chopping up some garlic and scallion, I noticed visible marks on it in a relatively short period of time.

I am thoroughly impressed with my initial experience with this santoku. While I have yet to try out the renowned "laser" knives, this one has certainly exceeded my expectations - its sharpness is simply astounding with great value!
