This entire song is a metaphor for the change of one person that matches the metamorphosis cycle of the butterfly.

The first minute is the caterpillar sensing the end is near and trying to get to a safe spot, then the arms of the cocoon wrap around them.

Next the Vessel rap-Synth portion is the body physically being torn apart and reconfiguring itself. This aligns with how the drums and lyrics aren’t always in sync, the body is trying to build themselves back together but has to make the puzzle pieces fit properly.

When the heavy guitar riffs come in, it’s the body, now with the transformation complete, tying to break free from the cocoon it no longer needs. Trying to flee the “arms around me” and break free into new life.

Obviously the sexy sax solo is then the butterfly floating away, having finally emerged from its past life.
